I've been there twice on tour. You are right this place is unmatched and second to none. I have stayed at some of the best hotels around the world and this beats them all hands down.

Why are people complaining and saying 'It's just a hotel'? It's really not - it's a massive world landmark (along with Atlantis Hotel, Burj Khalifa, Palm island, etc) that brings in millions upon millions of tourists every year and makes Dubai one of the best cities in the world to live in. If you don't like it go check in at a 2star hotel in the states and enjoy your flat screen TV. I'm from the UK but Dubai is an incredible place to visit.

I was in the navy when they first started building this hotel and i got to see the progress with every deployment i did till it was finished. it is a wonder of architectural genius .

So opulent and grand! This hotel is probably not the best place to stay in Dubai, but it's the best hotel in the Middle East! This place is truely the height of luxury and decadence in the UAE! I LOVE the rich elegant detailing of Burj Al Arab, both in the ultra luxurious suites and the fun common areas. Mosaics, gold leafing, fine marble and or granite, crystal chandeliers and other fine details!

It should be a 10 star hotel because there is none better, and I truly doubt that there will ever be a hotel that can top this one.... I admire these people for all that they have done to improve their country.

I am a civil engineer myself, and in my very humble opinion (BUILT ON MY STUDIES AND EXPERIENCE IS CONSTRUCTION) this burj is marvelous, its just you who can't see it !!! go search for a movie made by I think "history" channel about this burj ... simply it is MARVELOUS in its construction, finishings, decorations, exteriors and interiors and service ... i think you don't know a lot about it ...

My opinion this is really a new wonder of the world. I'v been there for my brothers wedding and we stayed for about 4 weeks and you really get the care and feeling that your see in this video, my only bad thought is that there is food that is only about 1 square foot on a plate that costs 30$ and another dish that is way larger that costs 20$ lol......I WAN TTO GO BACK SOOOOO BAD

From what I've heard the cheapest room is around 2000$ a night. The most expensive room is like 18,000 -28,000$ a night... which is actually STILL cheap compared to the suites in some American and European resorts.

It's not actually a 7 Star hotel, it's rated as 5 Star Luxury. The hotel has made no mention of it being 7 stars. It's because when the hotel was first built a British travel reporter said "I could not find any words to describe it, only to give it a 7 star rating to show it's different".

EVERY ONE IF U EVER VISIT DUBAI PLZ GO TO BURG AL ARAB ONCE IT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD IVE BEEN THERE ABOUT ONE WEEK EARLIER AND IT WAS AMAZING .....

And Dubai is not the only one, there is Bahrain and Abu Dhabi following it, they're nice and wonderful cities. Check out (Macau China) it's nice too or (Shenzhen City - Video For Business Travellers) or (Chongqing) or (Metro Manila) or ( Shanghai, China) there's alot to know out there than the US. When people critics it means lack of getting to know other cultures, other countries, people and more.

ppl with the raciest comments plz stop Dubai is a wonderful place regardless of where it is. If it was in United States nothing but good would be spoken of it so plz just appreciate it for what it is AND where it is.

I bet it's incredibly crowded there, I mean Dubai is such a small island! But, the economic chances you have there are astonishing! Small Island = Huge potential.

in last mnth i spend 5 days dere in burj al arab i njoyed v much wow really 7 star hotel lolx i woz feeling tht i m prince over there n having Lamborghini jus awsum weekend miss dose dayx

i have been there for a week (2 years ago now):D, it has xtrem , it was beautiful ,our room had 2 floors. The resturants are fantastique , al monta had very nice food , I love it. Its expensive but its worth it ;)

Wow this is jaw-dropping! I'd love to visit this hotel...

i have lived there for two days but it is really very very expensive.We've decided to try the Al Mahara restaurant (downstairs, aquarium)...very nice but too expensive for what you've got. A bottle of water is 50 dirhams ( 15 $US) and the same bottle at another hotel (Sheraton for example is 16 Dirhams (4.50 $) It is more than 3 X more expensive just because it's this hotel. Try to reserve very in advance because it can get really busy during weekend.

no he's actually correct. its technically a 5 star deluxe. it just has the nickname of being a 7 star hotel. there is no official rating higher than 5

ohhh YEAAA!!!!! i so want to go back to dubai i mean a week isn't inofe to explore it me and my family went to burj al arab for a night then to a 5 stars hotel well we couldn't explore it all but they didn't allow cameras the coolest part was where there was a fountin that made music!!

@SweeeeeetAs Thats not a tv that you saw in one of the suites, thats a device used to command your butler, since the butler stays in the same suite as you do, he has like a small room, and that tv is used to tell him what you need, you can also call him. Its also used for the curtains and other things.

@eng40075 no, the Burj Al Arab is different to the world's tallest building, which is called the Burj Khalifa, but that also has a hotel in it by Giorgio Armani; The Armani Hotel :)

@AlonePopTart I enjoyed my stay there, but I much preferred my stay at The Ritz in London. You should try it, nothing compares to that hotel.

No, I don't mean "a" tall tower.. I mean life over here in general in the Arab Gulf countries.. We don't pay taxes, an average family owns no less than 3 cars, a 3 story house with an average of 5 bedrooms, two living rooms, two sitting rooms (we call them Majlis, lit. salon), and the salaries are awesome.. Also every family has a housemaid and many have cooks and personal drivers..

There's actually 2 other seven star hotels. Emirates Palace (also in the United Arab Emirates), and the Town House Galleria in Milan. OMG Facts, baby. And yes, Burj Al Arab is the building on the cover of Ocean Eyes.

Do you know how mean you guys sounds? The arabs should be treated equal as anybody else in the world. Just because you're an american or something, doesn't mean you're better than everybody. The arabs should be proud of what they show us in this video. This hotel is magnificent! I guess you guys are just bitter because you know you never can afford to stay a night on this hotel!

the ppl whom r starving are the responsibility of their own country and government if u r kind enough u would see that the cause of poverty is not rich ppl but economical pools who cursed the world of the idea of globalization and those arab only manage through oil, i only feel grateful cuz earth actually distributed their resources to provide every one with a chance to bloom . i wish happiness 4 all the ppl .

@Arkade36 thats probably because this was a old video before HD tv's or 40 inch TV's for example the Rolls Royce at 1:44 is a old version of the rolls royce.

For all those who complain about the TV and the poor equipment. The conctruction of Burj Al Arab ended in 1999... probably the vid is that old too :) I bet that if u visit this hotel now everyone will change his mind...

you can say your hotel has 9 stars if you want to. There is no law against it. You can get a presidential suite in Vegas that looks like that and you don't have to worry about getting flogged.

@Tombi432 ur absolutely right. in my opinion, nothing is better than my food at home. also, if the hotel looks too luxorious, people are afraid to get it dirty and the experience isn't as good. however,I doubt this is really the hotel. people probably just want to make the commercial better. critics rate hotels seven star for a reason. also, have u ever gone to the manarin oriental in tokyo? thats pretty amazing too

If you like this hotel, go look at at another one called Emirates Palace, both of them are just so luxurious

Also - the country is not about to go broke. For one, Dubai spent a lot of money building places like this to develop tourism which in turn will bring in a lot of money back in for generations. Admittedly it doesn't have tuns of money just now, but it will never be properly broke. Secondly, Dubai isn't the country, the UAE is, and if you think the UAE is poor you might want to Google 'Abu Dhabi' - the UAE is very well off.
