I have been having a blast rerolling on Dragonfang EU this last week. A ton of people rerolled, feels a lot like the game was at launch. Playing a druid for the first time and about to hit 40, cant afford mount yet, but travel form is good ;)

I’m on my 7th character and have done no boosting. I still love the adventure of leveling and all the organic experiences you have while out in the world meeting people. If you feel burned out take a week or two off. Whatever you do make sure you are enjoying the time you spend playing. :)

I came back to the game a month ago from playing last year. Totally different now. Last year I couldn't find a raid unless you were hardcore. Burned me out real quick. You mentioned loot council, and that was a big problem for me as a druid. Our guild leader also a feral druid and would convince loot council all the gear to himself in the name of raid progression. I patiently waited and when he got all "his" gear it was my turn for some feral gear. Well at this time I had stepped back from raiding 4 days a week to 3 days. They decided I wasnt dedicated enough and started skipping me for loot again in favor of some new druid who said he would come to 4 raids a week even though I had been raiding for several months getting nothing but leftover off-spec gear no body wanted. I got fed up, and switched my spec to moonkin so I could have a go at maybe getting some caster gear. I was guild kicked immediately for switching my spec without asking the Guild leader for his permission and voicing my concerns over the loot system. I unsubbed the next day. I came back to find my old guild still raiding strong,only shortly after I left they said a massive shift happened because of me. Half the raid core left, the Guild leader quit and that other druid disappeared as well. The point of my story is hardcore people were killing the game and they realized they didnt want to play this way. Never underestimate player selfishness and get out of toxic guilds. I play now and it is so much more fun. I can pug any raid, I joined a semi casual raiding guild. We can kill everything but it's not a big deal if we dont. There are moonkins everywhere now, and feral druids, just as much as resto on my server. It's a beautiful thing.

Absolutely this. I made the mistake of joining a raid guild before the game came out and rushed my way to try and get into the raid only to be kicked for not hitting max level fast enough, even though I was already level 55. I had so much fun leveling as Druid but I was so frustrated I was kicked that I stopped playing the game. With TBC around the corner I have decided to roll another Druid from scratch and just enjoy the game.

The most efficient way to play a game is to play it your way and enjoy every moment of it.

Hi Ebbn i follow you from the beginning . Thanks to you i begin the classic as Druid the very first day i have had amazing time.. While everyone rushing to max level and dungeons i kept doing skinning and leatherworking Buying leather making items and selling at AH, keep fishing and selling nice cooking buffs. İ made 18.000g İ have almost never done any raid except Some molten core. İn fact in 3-4 runs i done all my druid epic item sets you know İ have sold the gold for cash it was a huge fun to earn back all the money back x5 more time totally i spent since my childhood to the Wow :) İ sold the golds and quit the game 5 months ago but im back again for Tbc İ dont want to pvp or pve İ want to casually goldfarm grind farm.. like you say, everyone has his tastes. What can i do :)

so i disagreed a little bit with your last video, but i forgot to mention that i ended up playing druid in classic because of your pvp videos. I ended up being one of the best druids on my server and i hope to get a gladiator title come tbc. its funny though because i've seen newbie druids ask for help and i always reccomended your videos in discord channels and such, sometimes people would reply to me saying that you're nothing special but from what i remember you were THE ONLY person making normal speed videos of pvp without any bullshit flashy effects. absolutely top tier content for a beginner in my opinion - of which needs more people making content for imo. thank you.

Both you and Toyhouze put out pretty good videos on the shield, glad that we have a good amount of content creators, there is no such thing as too many videos you can play in the background while playing the game. I ran into you few times while grinding warlord, I do also remember it was quite a few months after the initial HWL people rushed it. The difference is that I'm (and you) are still playing the game, and most of the original HWLs quit. I hope that my guilds' loot councils take into account long-term guild benefit over the flash-in-the-pan players. I did make a similar comment in the paladin tbc discord, that you can have an Tier 6 type aoe setup with 100% passive avoidance and 650 block value... and that's probably where I might want to get to before I start grinding out exalted argent dawn PERSONALLY... but if I was boosting for money, you can easily start with only a few heroic pieces, a few pieces of T4, etc... I found that playing as prot started to outpace myself playing as ret even at the very early T5 level, I noticed it in the cave farming netherwing dailies. It was kind of a wierd situation for me. Each week I'd spec ret to raid, holy to pvp, and then prot to farm.

Really agree with the topic. Following the meta and BiS lists too hard makes the game formulaic. BiS only means looking at the very best, and choosing that one. Same with meta. But do things really have to be "the best" all the time? No, absolutely not. We can look back at every expansion and pick out what was "the best" but did players during that time abuse it more than normally? No. Sure 1 spec might do 5-10% more damage overall but, what matters more is your personal enjoyment, familiarity and time invested in your character. Like this whole notion that TBC raids are melee unfriendly... yes compared to classic they are, because there are barely any mechanics in classic which means melee get 100% uptime. But does that mean that WoW raiding has been melee unfriendly/ range favored for over 10 years? Yes. But does that mean no one has played melee characters in raid in the last 10 years? Of course not! Because people played what they enjoyed, and we should too when we look into TBC and future classic releases. Lastly I'd like to say: just because I can read a plot synopsis of a book on wikipedia and get all the important information fast, doesn't mean that that's the optimal way to read a book. Sure you get to know Snape kills Dumbledore or w/e but you didn't experience the book. That's kinda how I see these classic releases as. The people who played through it for the first time (when it was current) experienced it, struggled with it and made inefficient errors, but they made it through alright anyways. The classic re-release meta feels like they just skimmed through a plot synopsis on wikipedia. The synopsis is written by someone else, it guides them through the story as quickly as possible and only adheres to the synopsis' authours own view of what is important. That's the same thing as following all these guides and making the most efficient desicions based on someone elses first hand experience. You never get your own first hand experience, you just check things off a list.

When you start talking about the ''burned out'' returning players, I can say that you were 100% correct as I am typing this down.

The week TBC classic was announced I started on a new server and leveled a druid to 28, took 2 days off, realized I have time and decided to level casually with rested. Much more enjoyable now & Ill prob do the same in TBC. Go hard for a little bit, then relax and jsut enjoy the content & alts. Mankrik horde is very LIVELY in the open world right now.

I'v always enjoyed druid the most. It's my all time favororite class. But in classic I have witheld from playing it because I don't really like tanking or healing (healing is okay) but I like dps... And almost no one wants kitty dps, unless you know them personally or they are very casual. That's what sucks. The druid is the class that resonates with me the most and I have most fun on but I still wanna be decent in dps. But in tbc I'm gonna roll druid no matter what. I'll fooken play resto if none wants me as cat. I'm tired of not playing what I love the most because of meta...

After raiding like crazy in classic on my resto druid, I'm ready for TBC. I'm gonna sit back, play my mage, and start PvP wars in hellfire.

This. NOW, this is an opinion that I can get behind. Personally, I am one of those casual players that rolled a character alongside 2 of my friends back in phase 1. We randomly picked a server and went to have some fun. When Phase 2 rolled out we were still leveling our characters while messing around here and there. We had a blast. Due to Real Life situations being in the way we had to quit shortly after we hit 60. Now, 2 more of our friends, who were playing hunters back in the day, are asking if we can pick one server, buy a 58 character boost and run 5-man dungeons and 5v5 arenas for the fun of it during this summer. Honestly? I am seriously considering of doing it, since I was gonna play on my own during this summer either way. Add to the fact that my current server, with my freshly dinged 60 character, of Stonespine EU is basically 90% Horde and 10% Alliance(because at some point in time when the paid transfers were available at least 2 Alliance guilds opted to transfer to Gehennas) and this seals the deal for me. On one side, we are going to be messing around a lot but on the other side we will be sorting out basic roles like who is gonna be the tank who is the healer and who is gonna grab which profession among us. Of course, I am not talking about min/max stuff and BiS gear but rather if one person picks a tank that person will probably pick something like mining and blacksmithing for the professions and we will make fun of each other during the fishing "competitions" with a cold beer each.

Boosting is disgusting anyway. I always find it ironic over the outrage over a paid one-time only 58 boost for those who just want to jump into TBC but these same people outraged over it are completely fine with paying for gold and using that gold to /follow a mage or paladin in a dungeon while they watch Netflix. It's the same outcome, just a different method.

I’ve had a different experience from the min max culture. I play on Sulfuras horde and yeah there are some sweaty guilds. But I’ve had a good group of friends in my guild who clear content and don’t require world buffs or specific comps. I’ve been able to play the game as I want with friends. My advice is to just search for a laid back guild and have fun

I was starting to get an itch to play some wow classic again but I checked my realm stats to find out it's 70/30 (was 50/50). Kind of made me re-think of getting back in because there's like 700 people playing in my faction. I fear that dungeons that I would actually want to partake in and experience them without boosts will be hard, also I'm afraid that the prices will be inflated due to 2x lower player count than I last played. The only thing I could possibly do is get my warrior that is 49-51-ish to 60 and maybe if I'm lucky to find a guild that would take me in for raids so I could snag at least some gear before TBC. I feel like WoW classic has way to many rakes in it's path to be long term MMO (from player side of view) I can only hope Blizzard will follow through with Classic + and fix other things like botting, boosting, unbalanced realms, gold sinks, off-meta spec viabilities, dungeon loot adjustment, macro bugs, allow bit more self reliance, spell power wider applicability, specialization buffs and nerfs, various consumable adjustments, quest reward adjustments, profitable world PvP, World PvP adjustment in general etc.

Pallys can be in dungeon blues and boost easily. One of the best item combos you can get to boost is a crafted jc trinket combined with a epl quest reward (ardent defender shield).

I hope alot of the warrior players go and hunt the next big dps class, so i can get a spot more easily :D

The thing about Mage AoE farming is flawed pathfinding. Nobody could predict, that this would be in the game. If they fixed the pathfinding, mage boost wouldn't that big. Don't take the comments about skullflame shield personally. You just missed spelldmg scaling in your analysis, which is the only reason why this shield is good. AoE farming crocs and spiders in Black Morass could be a thing in tbc.

BC and Wrath were my favorite. But after playing vanilla till recently and then playing classic hardcore, I am officially done with WoW. Just plain burned out. I am older, have a family, starting another career soon. I just want to explore other games and pick up some old hobbies like racing RC cars and riding ATVs, etc. Edit: I hope everyone has a wonderful time in BC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
