I'd love to pay a visit at Turf Moor one day. Burnley FC is one of the most down-to-earth clubs in the Premiership, and that's what I like it as one of the very few Premiership clubs. Come on you Clarets! Nevermind the embarrassing appearance of Hannover supporters some years ago in a friendly match. Greetings from Essen, Germany
@TheDockrays3 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes you are right; Burnley is definitely a down to earth premiership club. We’ll see if they stay that way now they have new Americans owners. You should pay a visit to Turf Moor before they potentially remodel it. I don’t know what happened between Hannover, but I know when local rivals Preston went to Turf Moor, there has been conflicts with fans ripping up the wooden seats and destroying the away stand.

Coming from someone who used to call Schaefer/Sullivan//Foxboro Stadium home here in the Boston area, a concrete slab which was super cold in winter and fry like a grille in the summer, we loved it as our own, special home. It certainly did pave the way, through Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick, Teddy Bruschi, Tom Brady and Gillette Stadium to 6 Super Bowl Championships! Keep the Faith! Burnleyboypedro thank you for your kind comment. In terms of permission, go on the club website and type in stadium tours. Then book yourself on one by ringing the number. It costs £10 for an adult and £5 for a child. Mine was on a none home game Saturday and started from 11am running approximately 2 hours. I have just checked the website, there are no tours running until the Corona Virus sorts itself out.

1:33 why is it that football stadiums have those pole/beams on the rooftop? how comes normal buildings don’t have that?
@TheDockrays2 жыл бұрын
It’s to hold the roof up with strong steel. All decent stadiums have them, but mainly on the roof. Here they have them on the building to support the weight of the roof from falling over. Older stadiums have metal/wooden poles where the seats are to support the roof, for example Everton still have them. But they restrict the view of supporters, so modern stadiums have built the support of the roof from different angles.

Good question. On the tour, the guide said something about being linked to a cricket club next door when it formed. Turf means grass and the moors is a place located in the hills surrounding Burnley/Manchester outskirts. But that’s my guess, not a fact.

is it true saudi is interested buying burnley? trying to imagine players like mbappe, pogba at burnley :o dnt think liverpool, manchester and other big clubs will allow it they were the ones who stood against newcastle buyout.
@TheDockrays3 жыл бұрын
I am not entirely sure myself, as not a Burnley supporter. However, I have heard rumors that someone is trying to buy them yes. We’ll see if it happens. I don’t think other clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool have a say on being against it. As a bit hypercritical as that’s exactly what they did with American owners. It is more the premier league and FA who have the power to prevent any takeover - the governing bodies. Exactly what happened at Newcastle United yes. An if history is anything to go by, take a look at Blackburn Rovers (my team). They were taken over by the Venkys in the Premier League and fans were promised big things like signing Ronaldinho even Lawandoski and none of that happened. Now we consistently play our football in the Championship trying to avoid relegation in League 1 with one third of the attendance at matches prior to the global pandemic. My point is, Burnley are doing just fine with new owners. Burnley is clearly a club that is currently run well by people who care about the club and not just profit.

@@TheDockrays PSG and Manchester City like top 3 in europe now. they also pulls big fans. so other big teams lose fans too. thats how it works. thats why they wanted to make super league as more big teams with new big owners will be threat in future. thank god super league didnt happen. . if it . Robert Lewandowski already said he was one of the players to move to newcastle once the deal goes thru. mbappe, lewandowski, pobga all these players will pull fans worldwide. they will put broadcasting games for the club higher rate. jerseys will sell more. its like same reason mega citys aim for tallest building. to attract tourist, business etc same for teams u get best players u attract fans and sponsors on jersers all rates goes higher trophy is just bonus...
@TheDockrays3 жыл бұрын
@@niyaazdean4772 yeah you are exactly right, it’s a business, the bigger names, the more shirts sold. The big difference here is the worldwide market of selling shirts and broadcast rights around the world. As only so many fans near the club to watch the games. Look at City; best team in the world, but other clubs’ fans joke about the City stadium, by calling it the ‘Emptyhad’ Stadium. Basically they are getting their new fans from abroad or creating a new generation of fans who have only been use to seeing City be successful and not the days prior to their success.

@@matthewmiddleton8950 That’s correct; ALK Capital - an American investment firm. Although I am reading they are £90 million in debt and left the club worse off.
