so sad how this mall went downhill. This used to be a great mall, a hub of activity. Now, it sadly is a dying mall.

This is also how the mall near me looks too except a little bigger. All empty with lots of stores completely closed. It is sad to see a mall that was once hopping back in the day to hardly no one there. Malls here are starting to become the past. 😢 Thanks for the video Tracy!

Thanks for the comment, Stacie. Yeah, kinda weird walking through those malls….✌️❤️

Drove around town the other day and if you pay attention, most strip malls and any small commercial buildings are all falling apart. Nobody is putting any money or effort into anything anymore. It's like we've given up on living. Makes me not wann go out anymore.

Thanks for recording it! I think I was last at this mall around 2012. Unfortunately it's reminding me of the Brookdale mall circa 2008. I hope they can pull something together.

I go to Customize It now & again, I bring in shirts larger than what they sell, and put all kinds of sayings on them that I make up. Really reasonably priced. I can barely walk and haven’t been able to walk the rest of the mall without running out of steam, so it’s nice to see what other stores are still there. I used to shop at Mind’s Eye Comics when they were in Eagan. When the original owner sold, I stopped. Didn’t know where the new owner located the new shop. Weird to find out Burnsville Shopping Center is where he went. Must be cheaply priced to be inside a failed mall with very little foot traffic. One of those closed places looked like a movie theater. One food place you passed was an Aunt Annie’s pretzels.

Seems like that outlet mall near by may have taken all the business away from this mall.

I grew up in Minneapolis and lived there until 1990 when my dad moved our family to Northern Iowa I so miss the cities alot but after the riots and destruction am glad we stayed in iowa! This mall used to be crazy busy in its prjme

I went to this mall for the first time not long after moving to the twin cities with friends shortly before Covid hit, and I remember there was an arcade next to the food court on the first floor. It seemed like a nice place, but now it feels completely dead. Even in late 2019 it was fairly empty for a Saturday evening. I’m not sure how much longer it’s going to last.
@tfox922Ай бұрын
I agree. I also remember the arcade! Cool! Yeah, it’s sad that something can’t become of that. It was fun to go there when I was younger.

Thanks for the tour. I have shopped at that mall - but it was very busy then. This is sad to see. I do prefer Rosedale - I used to work at Rosedale and it is closer to where I live......
@tfox92229 күн бұрын
@djk2884 I prefer Rosedale, also. I pass it every day on my way to work, and stop there on the way home sometimes. Yes, it is sad to see the decline of Burnsville Mall, though.

Just to build on what others said: Burnsville Center was never renovated. Through the years Ridgedale, Rosedale, Southdale and Eden Prairie Center have had multiple renovations. And they are all beautiful and thriving. If you are like Burnsville Center and don’t invest in renovations it will turn into a vacant dingy dump. There is no reason this had to happen if the ownership of Burnsville Center put some money back in their property.

Makes me sad! I’m surprised it’s even open still. Me and my wife used to love going here for pimentos Jamaican chicken in the food court. Once they left we kinda didn’t have any reason to go as everything was already on its way out by then.

The mall probably would have been closed if it wasn’t for an Asian company buying it late last year Hence the Asian market coming in sometime this year

Wow that's sad... I worked a craft show in that mall about 4-5 yrs ago and was surprised to see how the demographics had changed in that area.... totally different than when I use to go there shopping with my daughter in the early 2000's. They are also remodeling Southdale which was also a dying mall... looks like they are classing it up... They had put a govt office for licenses etc in there and that hurt it...brought crime there - 2 shootings etc so trying to change that I guess
