@@primeoil4758 No. Proper comparison. It truly is modern day peasant food, at least in the USA. It's completely unhealthy, lacking in countless vital nutrients and vitamins and is painfully addicting if you let it be, of which maaany do and why we have all the health and weight problems that we have in this country. And it does appeal to mostly poor and under-earning people, again in terms of USA society and citizenry, after all. Even midscale restaurants are much, muuuch better to eat at, even if they're muuch more expensive. Doesn't have to compare to a full-fledged, 5 star eatery. Anything is better than fast food. That's why it's called *fast food* lol. Home cooked meals and solid quality ready made meal prep kits are the way to go these days. Fast Food is at the bottom and always will be.

I’d argue that it seems like the kid has a great palate for flavor combinations and he’s obviously young and hungry to succeed. Plus he looks at Adam as a god, so in his mind he knows he can push this kid hard without question, he’ll get maximum effort and commitment out of him, and he’s developed enough technique and taste to hang and develop in a high pressure kitchen. Now he just needs the confidence to defend himself against the pressure. I’m not saying I’m right but being around the restaurant industry for 10 years now, it makes sense.

The weirdest crap ever. You don't need arrogance in a kitchen, the only person who needs that is the head chef. Imagine showing arrogance to the head chef, you'll be out within a week. How do I know? Happened bro!!

perhaps he meant he should be confident in his abilities. Else if you put him in a room with cooks who aren't as good, rather than bringing them up to his level, he'd get down to theirs.

This scene just gets it wrong. Stand up for yourself while showing respect. Worked in fine dining and struggling with that line,(my own anger problem) but saying arrogance is just poor writing.

Not sure if it's possible to make a character so out of step with reality. Cooking Michelin food is perhaps one of the least important jobs in the world.

This scene is poor, in my opinion. It's not arrogance he requires. He requires confidence. To work in a kitchen and spend every moment striving to succeed does NOT take arrogance, nor would you have to 'defend yourself'. It takes confidence and the pursuit of your passions. When a person is intensely focused on their passion(s), they don't see arrogance. They don't notice it. Arrogance, Flash and Pizzazz is a white noise. It gets in the way of the work itself. I enjoyed this movie immensely...but this scene doesn't help the point of the film.
