I have made these for two coworkers using flannel and terry and both moms have approved! The woman putting all of our gifts together for presentation is due with her second child. That night her husband saw my dozen burp cloths and wanted to keep a couple! (No, she didn’t let him, lol). She has now received hers and has also asked me to make some for her sister. Those are halfway complete as I write in November 2021. A third coworker has just begun her pregnancy so I will keep going with this great pattern. Thanks Laura! -Alex in PA

I bought fabric and made 5 of your burb cloths using just flannelette for my neighbour. Great success - she was thrilled. Could be all the rage for new mums in my part of Melbourne, Australia. Best design ever. Thank you

I love that idea of pinning the inside & outside of these and cutting the pieces together. What a time saver! I love to sew but I always hate the cutting and prep work. This really simplifies that process.

Laura, I've just made a number of these (again). Your design is the best and a great way to use up leftover fabric from other projects. Lucky for me there are lots of babies coming in my family and this is the perfect gift to send in the mail for the expectant moms. Thanks again.

I love your videos and you are one of very few people I subscribe to but this was not so very easy. LOL. I bought Shannon fabrics and they didn't line up (at least after a wash) so I had lots of extra Terry cloth. Both fabrics are a PITA to work with. I suggest doing this with flannel! If anyone reading this decides to do it with this material I would suggest sewing on either side of your line BEFORE you cut. Because when you cut, even though you pin it, the gauze fabric does not stay put on the edge.

The smaller the number the lighter the cloth. For burp cloths it can be any weight as you don't need them too heavy.

I hate to be the ignorant one here but... what ever happened to cloth diapers? I used to use those as burp cloths. Anyway, I don't have that much time/energy, so I'd rather stick to the sewing baby blankets projects. One more thought, I would cover the blouse or shirt collar too.
