I will eventually get an MCI D4500 motor coach for my RV conversation, just because they are more made for long distance trips down the highway. I was originally going for a school bus, but was talked out of it and going for a motor coach instead.

Sorry that owning 147 didn't work out. Insurance definitely is going high up. I'm selling my 2016 RAM 2500 Laramie for the same reason. Insurance went up from $850 to $2500/month. $2500/month for a pickup truck is a N-O!! Lol

Insurance really went up on you. Very unusual to see a manual jackknife door from the 1970s to early 1990s on a 2004 Blue Bird International as well.

AmTran's still came with jack-knife doors from the late 90's to early 2000. Same with Thomas's.

That sucks your insurance rates went up. Mine did too. I shopped for a lower rate I had the lowest already. Everything is going up.

That’s insane, sorry to hear about the necessity to sell 147. The 04 A3RE I bought a few months ago is only costing me about 5-600 for the year on insurance in Georgia, still trying to convince Hagerty to insure it. I can’t imagine how West Virginia is more expensive, and we got interstate 95 which I would believe our insurance would be higher.

I believe Hagerty only insures vehicles that are 25 years old or older. If I find a replacement for 147, it'll probably be something in that age range for that reason.

@@Project681 When I got a Hagerty policy for my 36 year old Peterbilt, they told me that 25 year old age limit applies to commercial vehicles, which they consider school buses to be commercial vehicles. They said they do insure newer vehicles, but those that are considered collectors, such as limited editions/productions, etc. I mentioned folks like us, txstreetman, Matts4290 and others who own buses that are newer, and they should at least make the limit for buses to around 15-20 years old as many are retired around that age. Sure hope that 147 goes to a good home 😞
