Lonnie, Just wanted to thank you for putting out honest videos that are not designed to sell product. I have had a recent epiphany regarding KZfaq channels that are designed to share knowledge versus those that are designed to suck in sales. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

Great video. Way back in scouts, We used to do something similar with a split log down to a long board and then wedge and tie it between two trees and his was the camp kitchen shelf for utensils and other items(no food). You would then run a line over it to hang the stuff off of or place items on the board.

Thank you for your video. It gives me dozens of ideas for making camp tables. For instance, you could build small walls like you would build a fire reflector on each side and lay the split logs on top. It would take more wood and saw cuts, but you could make it as wide as you want. Or, you could just pound in four stakes. Place a spacer in the middle of each set of two stakes and lay the split log on top. Then you can lash them together. Great job. Thanks for the ideas!

I did do a video several years ago on what I like to do for fun as it was a question a viewer asked. That video was about my exercise that i try to do daily. That exercise is mountain biking literally in the mountains. It is something that I enjoy. I have not done any videos specifically about staying healthy in the woods but if I were to do that then exercise would be an integral component of that. Here is the video if you are interested in watching it. Mountain Biking The Backwoods Of Alaska kzfaq.info/get/bejne/irFkm7uk1bmcmJ8.html

Nice setup! I was thinking with a tripod setup, you could tie the legs together to a central hub knot. Might have to try this here on our rocky ground. No big logs to split, though, so might have to lash poles together to make wider surfaces. Thanks for sharing this!

Nice bush crafted bench and table. I was going to comment on the other video on another method of gaining the lines on the ends which would be a string and a weight on it, a plumb line. Mark each end with it on its side the carve out the notch. I was also thinking of the string on the bottom of the the legs then thought perhaps it would work on the top of the legs as well and if it settled or the legs spread the cord would bind down the table top. Maybe. Oh and I see your keep your bear spray handy.

Working my way through your video archive, and enjoying them. I think, for the tripod option, for hard ground, I would not have the confidence in my knot-tying skills. So would fear the splaying out and the table collapsing on my legs! My adaptation would be more work, but would have three branches connecting the base of the tripod. Forming a horizontal triangle. Again I would not rely on just my knot-tying. Instead would use log-cabin type notching to fit them together. Then lash that.

@Obscured1972
@Obscured1972 7 жыл бұрын
I think it's because the table and bench are the same length. If you angled them the other way you would need a longer table. Also, angling them this way allows for the table to be closer to the bench
