... aaaaaand, they're back :o) ... This is the channel we all know and love. Two guys and a dog sowing us cool ways to do stuff and have fun doing it, perfect. Jager is so funny and typical of the breed, when they live a good life, they never quite loose the puppy out of them, no matter how old they get. Had me giggling from the start. Thanks guys, I for one really enjoyed this episode. Unlike other bushcraft channels, who sometimes get repetitive, There's always a fresh angle here. So great to see the team together again :o) -

Let not forget to count the saturated fats from the bacon which are essential to keep warm and stay full for longer. (FYI: proteins from meat are much more complex and hold a higher quality of nutritional value compared to protein from legumes)

fist let me say bacon is much better than beans. Great to see the two of you again. As for your new shelter, well done awesome job. As for the cordage debate it is like most things in life a compromise, just like beans or bacon taste V environment impact/nutrition, if you use cordage you save on tools needed and energy to build an equivalent shelter. Yes the cordage will outlast the shelter in most cases be we are capable of removing it, unfortunately most are to lazy to do so. I like to use natural cordage where I can but as you know it is very time consuming. Anyway awesome episode and can't wait till the next one.

In the purists sense, cordage can be made with natural fibers in the field but is very labor intensive, maybe less so in jungles and swamps than alpine forest. Modern cordage definitely a shortcut.

For the weight of some paracord, you could just bring a light tarp and not have to build anything. I like the all natural approach even if the saw is a bit modern.
