Just three miles from Miami sits an exclusive, members-only island that's home to millionaires and celebrities. Here, residents drive around in golf carts, lounge on beaches with sand imported from the Bahamas, and easily get COVID-19 antibody tests. Business Insider tours the richest zip code in America, where condos can cost up to $40 million.

For casual conversation references : " My Dailmer Benz/ Rolls Royce Ghost/Lamborghini/etc" ; 4. And so on, and so forth...

I actually drove onto Star Island by mistake, right across the bay, and it was so insane I couldn't believe it. Driving a 20 passenger stretch Escalade I turned into the island to turn around and go back to Miami, but there was nowhere to turn so I asked to go through the gate and turn around inside the complex. Let's just say that I don't believe for a second that Fisher Island is that much more impressive than Star Island. It is jaw dropping.

that’s because you’re paying for 2 different experiences. star island is for the rich who want a large home and privacy while also having easy access to miami and miami beach. fisher island is for the rich people who are willing to sacrifice having a giant mansion to live in a small community with the uber rich. with all the restaurants and amenities on the island you really don’t have to leave and interact with the normal people in miami if you don’t want to

If you look up "most dangerous neighboorhood" or "poorest neighborhood" you will find videos of tons of people volunteering to get on camera and talk and practically brag about their terrible life. However, in this video, the camera guy could barely find anyone to talk to. This shows that with riches comes choice, and choice allows for privacy.

I believe the owners are actually advertising their apartments and for a good reason. It could be because of the threats of sea levels rising and millionaires probably running away with their money to other safer places. It seems to me as an overall bad idea. I mean, dragging sand from the Bahamas can't be done perpetually without having a major impact to the ecosystem. That added to the possibility for the island to have an erosion problem due to hidrological modifications performed like the channel opened to connect the sea to the port of Miami...
