Busker sings "My Boomerang Won't Come Back" in Perth CBD, 2005

14 жыл бұрынThe German film maker, Kerstin Mylenkic, filmed this Nyungah busker in the Perth CBD singing the Charlie Drake song, "My boomerang won't come back" in 2005. She did not record his name but he was a well-known local identity who gave his permission to be filmed.

Listened to that song multiple times back in the 60's on the mini juke boxes that sat on restaurant tables.

The newer generation of aboriginal folk and those who claim to be aboriginal didn't appreciate this song being played recently at a naidoc gathering just couple weeks ago.

interesting that he changed some lyrics such as "black" to "blue"

I think Charlie Drake himself made that change - there are recordings of him singing both versions.
