Don’t tell me how to hold the wheel again..
I was holding bottom of the steering wheel because of the arms flare on the dashboard and speedometer.

Other than the insanely slow gearbox it's actually quite fast considering it's size.

Yes. Its engine 410hp and have a quite good acceleration. But the gearbox.. slow :))

Great video, it started off quicker than expected, takes a while for the turbo to spool back up after an up change though.

Thanks! Yeah, VDL buses are made for comfort, but gearbox program is quite slow

Yes, the gearbox is quite slow depending on city buses

Do newer VDLs have DAF engines combined with the new ZF traxxon transmission like the MAN L.C? Are they still economic ?

Yes. Correct. They are quite economic. It depends on your trip, ofc, but it stands from 22 to 27 liters for 100km 😊

VDL are still part of Paccar so are still a DAF really the coach spec VDLs use DAF engines whereas the smaller buses use Cummins engines.

Ok no prob. We don't need to check oil and coolant level if we are not going anywhere. Just starting and warming up the buses :))

I am retired now, but I was a driver/fitter many years, and have mechanical sympathy. I always check cold engines, in case of internal leaks. It wasn't a criticism. Your company policy is what you adhere to. I hope you keep warm in those temperatures.
