Are you allowed to show them a picture or receipt of license purchase? I have receipts for most of my shopping sent to my email as a back to show proof of purchase. You can use your phone to show or use a buddy's phone to check email receipt. That's a big fine.

Tip that might help some viewers, take a pic on your cell of your license. Of course they could still ticket you, BUT it gives you a stronger argument to get out of it.

You can take care of your fine online, but we can't find your license online. Crazy talk! Here in FL your license is electronic so if you have a picture ID they will look it up. You can also buy your license online.

She said she was new. You were getting the ticket for sure because she’s practicing lol. I saw some folks get into some BIG trouble one time. I had been assisting my younger daughter and hadn’t been paying much attention to a group of folks about 100 yards from us, but the game wardens had sure been watching them with binoculars. 4 of them walked down and surrounded those folks. They had a cooler full in their Jeep, plus a cooler full on the bank. Last I saw them they were heading to the parking lot with the game wardens close behind and the wardens were carrying all of their gear.

I'm confused I have my fishing license but it got soaking wet in my backpack and ultimately destroyed I was told that all they have to do is look up my name and it's in the system is that not true or or is this separate because they have trout stamps

They could have easily taken two seconds to figure out you are “legal” to fish, but they didn’t because they probably hate themselves. This type of thing has happened to me. You do everything they want you to do (far more than you should be doing), then you don’t have your papers on you that day, and they treat you like a criminal. Pretty twisted.

Wow! Game warden sucks!! Tennessee has an app for your phone so you don't lose or forget your license...and they can look it up if you have your driver's license. I noticed she didn't want to borrow your laptop...... looks like she was writing some one a ticket regardless!!

Sorry man that sucks bro. I was at clear lake got hammered and lost my shirt in the water that my license was attached to. DFG rolled up later on and wrote me up a ticket. I went to court showed the judge my copy of the license. He reduced the fine to only 15 dollars all was good. Crap happens sometimes fish on my bros

i could not find my license often, I showed them the picture of the license or the proof of purchase. Or even tell them my GO id, they can usually run a quick check. If they write a ticket to you after that, they are just being assholes, plain and simply. Do NOT blah blah blah things like rules are rules and stuffs, Unites States does not practice continental law, this is a common law country. Officers have tremendous discrenationary power. It's only about if they put themselves as people's servants or people's bosses. It's 2021, we have 4g, vhf, gps locator, wifi, and she cannot confirm if you have a license? If you are 50 miles offshore or in the woods, it's another story. BTW, I am not lawyer, but can somebody enlighten me the burden of proof is on me in such case?

They need a searchable database for fishing and hunting licenses that can be cross reference with a driver's license or ID. But then again giving people fines for forgetting their fishing license is massive amount of revenue so I doubt fish and game would ever consider helping us sportsman out.

Ive never personally been caught without one even though there have been times i didnt have it on my person. I do know of two different people that the game wardens took their word it and even one time one had just expired and they let her get one by the end of the day.

@@monster-pq7ln Cachuma is a put and catch lake, there are no creek environment where they can spawn so all the trout caught are planted, trout cannot reproduce in the lake without natural streams that feed into it.

I’m confused how you guys tell a native vs a holdover. Holdovers can also be silver. A trout being silver just means it’s been living in deeper water. If a stocked trout has been living there for a few years it’s most likely has grown back it’s fins along with developing. I guess my question is are you guys considering holdover fish native fish.

I'd recommend you have your fishing license stored in something you always have with you, not something you swap out or change each time you head out. I have mine in a plastic cover and safety pinned to the inside of my hat. I have a friend that not only was fined, but they took the boat and all the gear. Don't risk it.

From the Great Northwest public Duck Blind here in Washington state they do really well if checking you out if you forgot your license they will take it you the same way a lot of times it's dropped I do believe we should get teeth in this we are adults out here and you should always be aware of what you have with you and around you not only do I get chased by the fish cops I get chased by L&I a lot got to go by the rules it is too bad you get ticketed for something you have with today's technology it should be on your phone take a picture of it your phone's always with you here in the state of Washington we have a wild ID number that follows us God bless from the northwest and keep fishin absolutely it was the banana for sure
