I love this board however it appears that I've ridden it to death and after replacing the remote, power button, and battery It now needs new motors and maybe an ESC.
We wanted to explain this pretty thoroughly as it obtains to most electric rides.
Things wear out especially if you ride them every day in tropical, humid, sandy beach conditions as I do.
Bustin has been good at getting back to me with invoices for parts for me to purchase as well as some things that they think I did incorrectly replacing said parts and how to fix it............. sadly it didn't work.
Now I have the Bustin Hybrid Blues
LIKE this video if it was helpful and SUBSCRIBE if you want to see if it works properly again.
If it doesn't then I'll be giving away the new parts so they don't go unused

Thanks for the video! I'm gotten good use out of my Bustin Yoface's. Best shorty electric skateboard for ollies and kickflips for now. V3 far better than V2, better torque and range. After 500 or 750+ miles and heavy use I expect things to start falling apart as my V1 did.. They have more competition in the electric longboard space.

I see on their website they offer up to 3 year protection plans, looks like they basically replace the board if you opt to purchase it up to three years. That would be the way to go if you are running it daily, probably worth three boards worth of exchanges so would be a must buy add on considering your experiences with wiring and batteries.

Sorry for your loss, Mine was a Carbon GT with over 5k miles and those batteries were not known for lasting (flat packs) I stopped riding it when I could only do 3-4 miles, both motors were toast and I wasn't spending any more cash on a 6th remote (all brake lever fails) My friends GTX seemed to fix most GT problems so yeah.... and get a Hayden remote when available

EboardsPeru makes 12S4P battery enclosures made for the Bustin Sportster as well as sell a nice Molicel P42a battery pack in the 12S4P setup as well. From there just shop around for nice DIY Eskate trucks, mounts, motors, ESC and all that. It will be a little costly but trust me. A Bustin Sportster built DIY rides amazing

So did you ever ride the board in the rain? I asked them about how the board survives in the rain and they told me: Hey Wack The Hybrid V3 is rated as IP65, which means it is resistant to SOME water but not all. We do not recommend riding in the rain or through puddles. The IP65 rating means that occasionally splashes of water on your board won’t penetrate and hurt the board. However, if enough water is left to stand or run into the board, it can become an issue. Our board is very water-tight inside the case but the motors are the most at risk for high water exposure. If you soak the motors in lots of water, either by riding in the rain or going to through puddle, water CAN work its way in and damage the motors. Be careful and be smart, and be as dry as possible. Hope this helps, Let me know if you have any other questions!

Want the YoFace for a transition eskate but now not sure. It's a chunk of change. Don't have much luck with eskates. 1st was an evolve GTR, the brakes locked while riding when the ESC crapped out after 6 weeks of being treated like a baby. Ugh. Don't care about tricks but carving bowls/ kick-turns, inevitably come off a lot and that boards going to take a beating. My regular boards look pretty beat up after a few months. Hmmmmmm

I recently moved & my commute includes a 700ft climb over 4mi. With current gas prices, I may need to sideline my truck for a while. I don't know enough of bustin's esc & if it can do 30° inclines. Ended up ordering a Atlas with $400 discount. I've rode their X1s & know they can handle themselves - until 10% :P. Never had belts before. I hope I am handy enough to keep it tuned. Can't wait to explore my new city.
@ElectricCameraRide

30% on hub motors won't work... at least for daily use, the main bridge we cross averages 15% grades and while the Bustin will do it it is slow compared to a belt drive board

This idea that "lithium batteries only last 2 years" is just not true. Tesla owners have 10 year old batteries that are Lithium and still work and there are many other examples. Modern Toyota hybrids for instance. The degradation is minimal. If you ask an engineer to build a lithium battery system to last ten years, they can do it. It might cost more and have less range, and it might charge slower, but it would last ten years. The discussion about how often its charged, etc, doesn't matter. A hybrid like a Prius is constantly discharging and recharging at every stopsign, and those batteries last 10 years. And the road conditions are much much worse than what a skateboard will see. The thing about these lithium skateboard builders is they are trying to act like they are cellphones. Cellphones are designed on purpose to only last 1-2 years because they dont limit the charging percentages, the current, the temperature of operation, etc etc, like Tesla or Toyota does. If a battery dies after 2 years it's an engineering, and/or business decision not a limitation of Lithium technology.
@ElectricCameraRide
@ElectricCameraRide Жыл бұрын
Definitely, we have some friends that still ride 4-5 year old boards. I however do ALL the things that puts the engineering of said system to the test. Speed charging a board 2-4 times a day, 7 days a week, and riding hard in these temperatures and conditions is what I believe killed it.

@@ElectricCameraRide I think it's best to DIY yours especially if you use it heavily/hard. Most DIY systems are litterally plug and play, not built to function as a unit. Meaning you can be selective about parts and make sure you get what will suit your use case. More importantly you'll know all the parts, can put them together right then just replace and upgrade them as needed

@@ElectricCameraRide I recommend you get a belt drive or gear drive motor. It sounds like you like to ride, which is awesome. Problem is for a hub motor board the motor IS the wheel. It's just covered with a thick layer of polyurethane. The motor heats up from spinning and the wheel cover heats up from friction. All the heat is trapped there with no way to vent. If you don't ride it too much or too often this is fine normally but riding a lot litterally cooks the hub motor internals. Belts and gear systems are much, much easier on your motor. Not only because the motor is able to properly cool but also its not acting as a wheel. It's up and away from the ground significantly reducing vibrations and bumps that shake it up.

@@ElectricCameraRide In the video it sounded like you almost accepted having to buy a new ~1k board every year imo that's just silly. Spend 2.5k on a nice custom DIY and you'll get an easy 6 years outta it. The saying "buy it nice or buy it thrice" is so true!
