Britains busiest stand alone cargo airport is the home of DHL. They fly regularly into East Midlands EMA, with flights to and from Europe and the UK with aircraft from the 737, all the way up to the 747 with everything in-between.

It isn't hard to figure out that wide-body jets make great for cargo jets! In fact; the first ever wide-body, the 747 was originally meant to be a cargo plane but it's design lost to that of the C-5. So the 747 became a passenger jet instead and soon, other wide-body jets started to be introduced. The 747 still does make a good cargo plane which is why older 747s were replaced with the 777-300ER instead of the 747-8 which is used for cargo more than travel.
