Disaster strikes on our first train trip to Scotland, the return journey was hit by a delay when power lines at Doncaster fell onto the train in front causing a 4 hour delay and diversion. LNER came to the rescue and diverted our train and also paid for a cab home from Newark that would have cost us £100. Well done the staff at LNER Newark Northgate for sorting this out for us. We also got a full refund on our fayre as we were delayed for more than 120 minutes.
