Pretty sure it's a lot simpler actually, one thing. Will note diamond, spade, etc, and something else will note what value the card has.
@kryptoniridium2 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure it's just a set of simple rules. • First few lines indicate which suit (Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, Clubs) it is. • Then the next lines indicate if it's a number card, 6 is the mid number (because 2-10) which could be coded easily coded with even increments and 6 as midpoint. • For Ace or Face cards it's simply just a few lines to either side. This is just my guess but it could be somewhat similar.

As a kid, I had a set of marked cards. It was actually very simple. The back of each card was completely covered in small red circles - hundreds of them (it was a fairly standard pattern, nothing special). ... but if you zoomed in and focused on the 16 circles in the top corner of the card... oooo oooo oooo oooo You would notice a very subtle line running through one of the circles... ØOOO OOOO OOOO OOOO This one above, for example, would mean this was the first card (the ace). And the orientation of the line would indicate the suit.... \ = spades | = hearts / = diamond - = clubs For example, this below would indicate the eight of diamonds... OOOO OOOØ OOOO OOOO It was a really basic and effective labelling convention. I wish I still had them!

@@kelduarjudgester9083I had a similar marked deck trick cards they used missing ticks in a flower. Almost more interesting is they were tapered so if one card was upside down relative to the others you could run your fingers along the side and draw out that card where ever shuffling put it as long as you kept the orientation when shuffling. You could have some one pick a card (turn the deck) and have then stuck it back in any where they please and shuffle repeatedly ending with a cut to the upside down card leaving it on the bottom. Finishing shuffling to flash the bottom card and say that's your card was a really hard trick to figure out, you know for 12 year olds anyway. They were fun to play with.

i think the butterfly riderback difference was showed when you first split them apart. as someone who both collects decks of cards, and also learned a dozen-2 dozen tricks of close up magic. deck handling, and the faroh shuffle. only a FEW "mathematical" tricks aka self-working, which to ME personally didn't seem fair or rather seem like a trick to me. i'd always try to add in extra steps to make it more difficult/more unguessable. one of the first few tricks i learned was a couple tricks: 1) "This'n'That" 2) "Devil's Elevator" and what's funny about #2 is one girl I was dating at the time, when she introduced me to her older sister and her sis's husband, i showed them the "devil's elevator" trick as per request by my gf after our first date; her sister said i was NOT allowed back at her house because i had the devil in me lol... it's amazing how sleight of hand and keeping track of how the trick goes made someone think i had a "deal with the devil" cuz at the end, i'd ask them "Tap the top card if you believe in God" and when they did I'd reveal the last spade. 2,3,4,5 of spades with 4 red cards (if i only had one deck it would be the 2 red sixes and the two red 9s. otherwise it would be all 4 red 6s). i'd show them i had 4 red cards (and having all 6s REALLY enforces the name of the trick) and then i'd count down the 5, 4,3 2 of spades. slowly bring them from inside the elevator one at a time to the top. and on the last card, i'd do a simple double lift and show them it wasn't on top, show the bottom to show it wasn't there either, then while the deck was on the bottom i'd flip them over one, two, three, four+five simultaneously to show them the 5 of spades was truly gone! saying "perhaps he got off to get a drink, afterall Hell is hot! But if you believe in GOD! Tap on the top and save him!" when she tapped, i'd flip over the five and her sister legit freaked the hell out LOLOL. the other one only requires 3 cards, preferably blank cards but since i didn't have any blank cards to write the words "This" and "That" on them. as with close-up magic, its important you do NOT mess up from any angle, can't get caught slippin on a double lift, or flipping 2 cards over at the same time, i.e. one from top and one from bottom. you're essentially hiding one card the ENTIRE trick and start the trick off by showing them 2 cards "labeled" as "This" and one card labeled as "That" and the trick for THEM initially is to "keep your eye on THAT card" and they'd proceed to guess where "THAT" card is outof the 3, but i'd show them that "THIS" was on the bottom, top and middle. explain, "i must be cheating" and go on to show them, "wait a minute, the bottom was just "This" card and now its "That" card. lets check the top, and boom, its turned into "That" card, same with middle. at the end of the trick, you leave them with a bit of "sage advice" by saying the following line while turning one card over "Sometimes in life, you get a little bit of this *flip over "THIS" card"*, sometimes in life, you get a little bit of that *flip over "THAT" card*, and slowly, looking at the person or group you're doing the trick for, but sometimes in life, you get a little bit of the other. *Flipping over the unseen card up until now that's written as "THIS"* ." two very, VERY, effective tricks where 1 trick only requires 8 cards and the other only requires 3. another "trick" but more like a "scam" is the 3 card monte, i did learn it but i absolutely HATED bending any of my cards, so i'd typically wait to use an older beat up deck or a cheap deck like Bee. anyway. i could do the Triumph routine, loved it, do enough faroh shuffles that it resets the deck to new-deck-order. you can however preload the deck like that and take it out of the box, do a couple false cuts and false shuffles, and then do one or two faroh shuffles and show them its back to new deck order, after of course showing them the deck is "completely mixed up" knowing its not. then the 2-4 mathematical/self working tricks that i wasn't a big fan of. then a few tricks where you FORCE the person's selected card, and manipulate it to either the top or bottom, depending on the trick, and from there's there's tons of tricks you can do. but the one i liked the most was pretending to mess up by double lifting and showing them the wrong card and go "dang" only to look off into the distance of misdirect them somehow, slip the 2nd from top card to the bottom with a QUICK middle finger flip to he bottom while i covered the top riffling the top of the deck to cover the flick noise. tap on the top and pretend to be thinking only to say, OH, NOW I REMEMBER, *flip over card* - is THIS your card? "whoa, yeah!" but i never asked what their card was until THAT point, between the "showing of the wrong card" and ask them "well if that's not it, what in the world was it?" that also helped cover the noise while we're talking. and then the "revelation" of figuring it out. so after i laid down their card, i'd also say, "i also found these too!" and after their card, i'd flip over the aces one by one, or kings, or queens, or whatever 4 of a kind. it was fun. i miss close-up card tricks that require sleight of hand, hand-quicker-than-the-eye, forcing card selection, the many ways of manipulating its position and so on. sadly i haven't practiced in so long. and i've forgotten more than half of my tricks including the wonderful triumph routine which if i recall, at some point it has you shuffle one side face up and one side face down to "truly mix them up" however that's part of it. anyways, take care. oh as for marked decks, not a fan of them. i do technically own two but theyre the same deck as i always get my decks in pairs (one to play/mess with) and one to keep in original packaging, cellophane, and the sticker untorn. for my collection. part of my collection is theory 11's lovely african wood hand-made box that holds 4 decks of the same kind, i believe its the monarch deck, lovely box with either a laser or hand carved design on the front and inside lovely feeling felt/cloth type with the dip in the box to hold the 4 packs of cards. sadly, one of the decks had the glue on the BOTTOM of the pack come undone and idk how or why so i had to use it... brokemy heart. going back to the marked deck, it was Daniel Madison's limited release white deck that LITERALLY SOLD OUT within a couple hours, if not ONE hour, after its midnight release where everyone with an acct at theory11s website, i woke up to check e-mail and they were sold out and i was beyond sad since my bday was either the following day or so. somehow my sister got 2 decks. while i looked on ebay and other sights and they were being resold between $500-$800 or more. i think the most i saw one of those decks actually sell for was about $1200... i could NOT believe it. apparently its marked on the back and there's a piece of paper showing you how to figure out which mark means which card but i lost it somewhere in my room, subconsciously on purpose or not, but i genuinely did not want any marked decks.
@ghz24Ай бұрын
My favorite uses 21 cards in 3 columns of 7 after three times of putting whatever column gas the "picked" cardin the middle and redealing itto 3 columns again the card ends up in the center with 10 cards anove and below it. Then lay out the cards in pinwheels of 4 cards per wheel (keeping track of the 11th card) and have them pick two of the wheels, then remove cards that I wanted gone. If they picked a wheel with their card I'd remove the ones they didn't pick. If they picked wheels with out the card I'd remove those. In short they got to point but I'd remove the ones I wanted and with only a couple times to pick they very rarely noticed. In the end it seemed like they picked their own card out. Sometimes they would just by chance make perfect picks and had no chance of telling I was taking what cards I wanted regardless of which ones the pointed at.

I used some marked cards once. They had a system, like a certain pattern would tell you certain details about a card and putting them together you'd know exactly what card you are looking at. Works at a glance with a bit of practice. So likely all aces have a similar singular identifier. Or something close. As for how he got them so fast. I mean. The footage is sped up to fit in the shorts format. If thats what you mean?

That last little bit where you kind of quickly flipped through the edge of each card, it looks like the little dots around the edge are marked either red or white in different orders depending on which card it is. Again, I legit just saw these for the first time so I'm absolutely open to being wrong here, that's just the only thing I noticed from watching this. Maybe if I watched it repeatedly Id notice something else, but meh.
