We've said similar things actually in relation to the AK range, we haven't found one yet that we don't like!

Rakarth top is left field! as is Retributor armour! We've had great success with the AK gold's if you fancy a new paint :D

​@@the_kieran_show So, first of all, I will definitely check out that alternative Gold, because alot of armies Ive been painting use Gold in some capacity and if theres a better version of Retributor Armor out there, I'm willing to try it because Pro Acryl's Rich Gold just didn’t do it for me. As for Rakarth Flesh, this was my best friend while painting my Gloomspite Gitz for a Tournament. I had about 375 points painted before the end of May this Year, I needed to paint enough models to get me to 2000 points by the second weekend of July. Rakarth Flesh did alot of heavy lifting in quite a few areas for me, mushroom stems, teeth, and other miscellaneous plants/fungi. I even used Rakarth Flesh as a base for some of the skin of my Troggoths. I wet-blended it with Pro-Acryl Dark Jade and used that as the foundation for their skin details. I was even able to do a bit of a transition by wet-blending the two colors. Even if it was a bit ungraceful, I personally think they turned out decently. I understand in-context that is a huge source of possibly unfair bias, since alot of it's versatility was within a single army, and models from the most recent armies I've done light painting on since haven't used Rakarth Flesh, but it came in clutch when I needed something flexible and it could flex quite well in my Gloomspite Gitz.

​@@the_kieran_show Question about the "AK Gold" I looked into it and found 2 different paints, "AK11191 Metallic Modeling Colors" gold and another listed as "AK472 Extreme Metal Paints Gold" which one of these are you referring to?

@the_kieran_show If you are looking for unique metalics, I strongly reccomend giving them a try. Particularly People Eater [Purple], it's something special.

I run all three, plus deck tan. Ice yellow is by far the yellowest, so it will change the hue more, but it also adds the most luminosity punch. Add too much, and you risk your blue turning green. Ivory adds very little yellow, so little as to almost be white, so it's safer, but also least valuable for luminosity. Pale sand is in the middle. Deck tan is a brown white, so it's even safer, but your color gets lighter while the hue heads towards the middle. If you are painting for display, all of them have their uses. If you only have to use one for everything, I'd go with pale sand, as it's right in the middle, but if you are going to buy just two, that's the one I give up, because both edges are more valuable than the one in the middle. But without a budget, vallejo and AK have those four, plus a bunch of more specialized ones for violets, blues and reds. You'll find many a competitive painter with a shelf of off-whites, just because it's far more convenient, and easier to reproduce, than doing all highlight mixes from a bunch of single pigments.

Depends what you want, if you just want a brighter version of the existing colour then something like ivory or white will do that but you’ll loose some saturation. That’s where stuff like pale sand and ice yellow come in. The yellow adds some luminosity to it so you don’t loose as much saturation, but can be very fine margins as if you add too much you’ll change the colour completely!

Another one for Pro Acryl! I think we're going to have to invest and pick some more up. I know what you mean about the glazing with black, we tend to use washes and contrasts, maybe we should experiment!

@@the_kieran_show definitely, they (washes/contrast/paint) all behave different from each other and maybe u find a use case for that. its always good to have more tools in your arsenal
