I have one I used to get from my office to the warehouse in a factory. I saw these in use in another factory without the seat as a stand up scooter to get around the factory faster than walking.

I've had one for 3 years. Two main problems are the front fork and the wire harness. They drilled a hole through the fork tube to use a bolt to attach the fender. This weakens the tube and it breaks. The wire harness is routed through the tube from the battery compartment to the front assembly. Every time you turn the front wheel the harness flexes sharply from side to side. Eventually a wire breaks inside the insulation. The problem with no traction on the front wheel is because the scooter was designed to have the operator in a standing position, placing more weight over the front wheel. As others pointed out this scooter is intended to be for recreational use. That being said I've been able to use mine as a mobility scooter (My left leg won't support me) by welding a supplemental tube in the fork tube and rerouting the harness (after replacing the wires with heavier gauge). I do lean forward on uphill slopes and sometimes even do s-turns. It's nice on bike paths where I can keep up with faster bikes (~15 mph). I wear a helmet, hard shoes or boots and knee and elbow guards when I do that.

I own two of these.... Bought one, loved it, bought a 2nd one... Yes it is back heavy... You have to lean forward to keep weight on the front wheel.... And yes, Ive tipped over backwards on it...the anti-tip wheel is basically useless... It's not a mobility scooter, it's a RECREATIONAL scooter... So it hauls ass on flat ground, like tooling around the campground (which is why Camping World exclusively sells the model shown in the video). One big improvement I've made with mine is I've replace the 3 sealed lead acid batteries with equivalent LiFePo4 lithium batteries... Makes it much lighter, and charge lasts a lot longer. If you know its limitations, and safety concerns, it's a lot of fun.... And, since I do have a walking disability, it allows me to do more than I could without it.... I'm not ready for the "old man scooter" yet, but visiting Washington DC and Colonial Williamsburg, this was a Godsend.... And a hell of a lot cheaper than the $2000-$3000 "mobility" scooters. The "FDA Class II medical device" approval adds a huge cost to scooters... Since the Zoome 3 is not FDA Class II, they are significantly cheaper.

Exactly!!! It's not a medical mobility scooter, so it's not really for indoors. Replace the tires if you're going to use it indoors. If it's flipping over, maybe you're(anyone) using it in a way that it wasn't designed to be used.
@johntetreault
@johntetreault 2 жыл бұрын
@@stevewessels2798 on the contrary.... It's much safer indoors (flat level surface) vs outdoors on varying surfaces.... I use it indoors when we're going through things like the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.. it's a huge area, and walking it would be difficult for me.... I also use it when we're camping, travelling around the campground.... The one time I tipped it, was on dirt ground, I accelerated a bit too fast, the tire spun, then caught, it lurched forward, which shifted my weight back causing it to tip (as I said, the anti-tip wheel is pretty useless... Even on flat level ground, it will still let it tip if your weight shifts back too far)
@johntetreault
@johntetreault 2 жыл бұрын
@@stevewessels2798 not really seeing why I should replace the tires if using it indoors.... And to what. The existing tires seem great for indoors..... They actually really suck on grass or dirt... They spin.... But on tile or carpet, (and of course pavement) they're great.

I loved mine. I am disabled and bought it to walk my dog. It was perfect for that purpose. However, the batteries failed and one day it flipped over on a small rise and I now need a shoulder replacement. I still miss it and would buy another but it needs some adjustments before I do.

I bought a similar version made by someone else. Mine has a off road tire on the front it’s 3 speed but like you said I have to get a running start to get up sidewalk ramps but your absolutely right this type of scooter is not good at all on grades of any kind. Side to side grades are even worse. The fact it only has 1 brake is a nightmare as well. It’s a toy to me

I asked where I can get a test drive and the fellow from out east told online only no stores so I said to him that it's like Buy a pig in a bag. Who's going to fork out$$$'s of dollars for anything you can see if and how it works. I may be old with a disability but my brain isn't disabled. I saw it on a few websites in Canada but when I.called the place that makes it in New York they told me that they have no dealers in Canada That was a big Red Flag for me.

Buyers Beware of Zoome 3 It works great! I'm in my 60's and I'm a 6'3'' 270 lbs man. I live in a small town with small hills and my Zoome 3 works really well. It pulls my big ass on grass, gravel, black top, and concrete very well. I can get going around 15 mph and have taken it over 6 or 7 miles and it still shows high charge. If the front wheel spins just lean forward some until you get moving. The biggest thing I can find wrong is the seat is hard and it hurts my butt if I ride it on long bumpy roads. Do not be afraid of a Zoome 3 scooter, it's fun fun fun to ride. Now this is just my take on the Zoome 3 some others may disagree with me but I love mine.

I have since decided to go with a power chair driving around in the seated position like having a car seat with mobility as I have no left hand ability it's equipped with a joystick to operate. I completed the driver training sessions with my OT and the technician from the store that makes and sells the chair and I have been measured by them to get a perfect fit because I have a small frame. I had liked the ability to stand up and go but too many issues with climbing and the front wheel plus I have only one hand with ability so my OT couldn't agree with that type for me.

Ok a suggestion, lose the seat, the seat makes it very tippy, I stand on mine, and stand forward putting weight on the front wheel, I like mine but the range sucks, it supposed to get about 14 on a single charge, I barely get 1 mile, I don't know if mine is busted or this is normal, my batteries are new! I'm a pretty big guy, (290) if I got at least five miles on a charge I would feel better, but the range really sucks, anyone have this same problem?
