Happy to see you are back! I'm from Upstate NY so watching you brings back a lot of memories of being on the farm. Keep up the good work. Cheers! Ray Valley, Central Florida

seems like you have a hobby of a retired 70 year old. probably more old machinery too. but you seem to really enjoy it, that's the most important part of life.

That did a pretty good job cutting that high grass. I've never used one of them. I wasn't sure how they worked until you showed the swinging blades underneath.

I own a 907 too - It's an awesome mower. My 8n struggles with it in tall grass, but is good to go for finish lawn cutting. With it's weight and the roller, it doubles as a lawn flattener too. I've also used it as a roller to compact 23aa gravel for my driveway.

If you adjust the top link longer it will probably do it. You'll probably have to make 2 passes though.

Hey man, love your vids. Any way you could do an update on the 5 in 1 trimmer? I am on the fence about getting the stihl kombi system or that guy from ebay. I would love an update video!

Yes it sure does. It's not the prettiest, but neither is the tractor running it, too. lol.

get a Lock n Lube Coupler for your grease gun. they are easy on/off the grease fittings. less leakage also.

Just bought the same old mower to match my faded ford wow! Also wondering if it’ll cut after it’s gone over with some repairs.
@Lanninglongarmmowing2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it will cut after some repairs. This mower leaves the field looking great better than any mower on the market.

@@Lanninglongarmmowing did you have a belt part number or source? Haven’t got a good reference bc the old one on here is not correct to begin with.

@@bethl9825 Sorry for the late reply. I am using the mower today and remembered you needed the belt part number. The belt number I have is C1377 LP/C52. Hope this helps.

I’m looking at one of these exact mowers right now (same model)…..almost a year later are you still happy and have you had any issues?
@Lanninglongarmmowing2 жыл бұрын
If you have a pretty powerful tractor like we have which is an Allis Chalmers D17 with about 50 HP out the pto and you go through really thick grass it will slip the belt. The belt is the weak point in these machines. I wish it had a triple belt system. The belt that on it is a 7/8 inch belt though so it's a big one. Overall I am still happy with it. It's well made and cuts the grass as good or better than a finish mower. Plus it doesn't take up much room in the barn to store unlike a bush hog does. What were you planning on using it to mow?
@LivingOurAmericanDream2 жыл бұрын
Planning on mowing pasture-type grass about four times a year, knee high grass and weeds. I have a kubota compact tractor with 30hp at the pto. That’s really where I am struggling…knowing I have enough power.
@Lanninglongarmmowing2 жыл бұрын
@@LivingOurAmericanDream This mower should have no problems mowing knee high grass. My understanding is Ford originally made these mowers to go behind an 8n which has maybe 25 HP at the pto or maybe 20. You should be fine. Sometimes its better to have not enough power than it is to have to much power. The Allis will grunt a little in the thick stuff and then you can hear the belt squealing. What is the lift capacity of your tractor? This mower weights between 600 and 800 lbs if I remember correctly.
@LivingOurAmericanDream2 жыл бұрын
Kubota L3400 has around 1500# at the three point hitch, should be good. Thinking I’m gonna move forward on this cutter. Thanks.
@Lanninglongarmmowing2 жыл бұрын
@@LivingOurAmericanDream Go for it. You'll love how the pasture looks mowed with a flail mower. It's a lot better than a brush hog.
@MotownVideo3 жыл бұрын
Where did you get the belt? I have a FORD 917 Flail mower and am having trouble sourcing the correct belt.
@Lanninglongarmmowing3 жыл бұрын
I had some trouble locating one also. I think I found it on eBay if I remember correctly. I may convert mine to a chain drive or 2 to 3 drive belts because the one belt seems to always loosen up and then slip. Then again I am putting about 50 HP to it too which isn't helping any lol.
@MotownVideo3 жыл бұрын
@@Lanninglongarmmowing Looks like I need to take a trip to the farm to take measurements! Why didn't I measure it when I was there? I thought, I have the model number what else could I possibly need? I even had a tape measure sitting in the console - AAARRRHHHH ! Lesson learned. BTW wow, the prices really vary online for the same typical belts. Watch your wallets!!
@Lanninglongarmmowing3 жыл бұрын
I know how that goes, believe me lol. Yeah prices vary a lot online but try to get a quality kevlar one if you can find it. The belts stretches about 3 times when I mow with that belt. I can't remember did I say the model number or size in the video?

I get mine from O'Reilly Autoparts. Gates C53. I believe it is a C54 for the newer model mowers.
