This house is absolutely gorgeous. Always remember to look into how close the nearest hospital, gas station, and grocery store is. I love this home it's absolutely gorgeous, so unique. I like homes with personality, and this home certainly has a strong one!

What a house. 🤩I saw that egg-shaped window and was immediately like "Ah, yes. It's already on theme." That whole property is simply stunning. Honestly, I love house tours just to see what makes them unique. I've lived my whole life surrounded by cookie-cutter builds, so stuff like this is an instant dose of serotonin.

@@dogerogue6621 That would be becaue, according to Alex's side of things: After they had made an offer on a house in Tasmania, he decided he didn't want to leave his job after all, filed for divorce, put all her stuff in a storage locker and wouldn't let her access it, sold furniture she paid for, mistreated and neglected her pets and even rehomed and released some and wouldn't tell her where, tried to force her to give up her half of the proceeds from selling their house, and I would guess is the reason her friends in Sydney all stopped talking to her, all while her mental health was at it's lowest point... I'm sure there's more to it since we only know her side, but nothing justifies that... She owns a house debt free in Tasmania now though, with all her animals, so things are looking up.

As someone who lives in Hobart, I highly recommend using one gas bottle at a time and then ordering the new one when the other is empty and your on the second one. As you could wait a week for delivery, we have been caught out in winter

I’m so sad watching this today. She was so exited to begin life anew with Dan in NZ. And then, it all fell apart. Hoping you are at peace now, dear Alex. Thank you for all you gave to us. May your family and loved ones find peace, in time. 💔

Just a few things to be aware of. This property will have pretty much 0 sun in winter (which are very long and cold here) because of where it is situated up the mountain. It is also potentially a bit of a fire trap for bushfires in summer. Just some things to be aware of. Also those foxglove that are absolutely EVERYWHERE are classed as a invasive weed here in Tasmania and can spread into the bush especially in damp environments. So they would be something that you would have to try and eradicate. I’m so glad you are moving to tassie, and I really hope you find the perfect home for you, Dan and the birdies ❤️

That house will be absolutely freezing in the winter and you’ll get snowed in. Mossy ground = no sun.

Solid advice. Just to add to the fire advice some California tactics like clearing away dead brush from near the house, paths, and near entrance and exit road and trying to make sure you have treese a lil away from the house too might be useful. Depending on how much property it is (haven't watched much yet so idk) a fire break may also be useful. There are also special fire vents that you can buy to ensure embers don't get into the house through the vents too.

Thanks for showing the landscape surrounding the house. In many ways, this mountainous area in Tasmania resembles the blue ridge mountain area in western North Carolina where I live. Tasmania seems like an awesome place to establish roots!

I would like to give you some advice, unsolicited lol. But NEVER...EVER, EVER go with the building inspector that works with your realtor! That's a really bad idea. They have all the reasons to overlook things to push a sale for the realtor so they'll reuse them. Just be careful!!

I looks beautiful. So happy Dan will be moving also. I am very very OCD so please check zoning (what can be built, changes that can/cannot be made and permitted animals/birds), plumbing, electrical, topography (for example homes on high hills in parts of California USA have to be reinforced/stabilized to avoid sliding down a hill), water availability and of course wifi. I am a worrier, can you tell?

Most wildlife carers or aviary owners need a fraction more space and larger areas of flat, more stable land. Beautiful house but I would be looking more into a larger block to suit your purpose!

I absolutely love this house! I can picture it all painted and furniture in it, and how easily those curtained-off storage spaces could become wardrobes with nice wooden doors etc. There's so much potential! I just love how quirky it is! The egg shaped windows etc are a sign imo 😉💖💖🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@@BrittNicole-el4vq I think he did. Alex had difficulty accepting that he didn't want to move and that they were drifting apart. Videos can be deceiving with their editing and timing. This is all her point of view. I don't think anyone could've done anything, this feels so inevitable now. Like no matter the train she chose to board, the changes others made to her tracks, her end station was always going to be the same. I'll miss her, it's odd to think she's never going to hear bird song anymore, or look at a beautiful plant, or rave about some iridescent trinket she found. So final. 😢

hmmm...I don't want to be trashing on your house hunting but I'd like to write some things down to consider. The house is on a mountain so it'll most likely stay foggy and cold a lot of the time and will have very high humidity, so it could cause some possible mould problems (I'm from the rainy part of UK and mould sucks). It's also on a hill so if you ever want to do some levelling on the ground it could pose it's own problems with stability and water drainage. The garden is huuuuge so it would require a lot of work unless you want to keep it natural. More forested areas might have some building permission problems if you want to expand (aviary). You might've already considered these things but wanted to point them out anyway just in case. I hope you find your dream home!

Hey Alex! Just a quick comment RE compost toilet! We have one here, much smaller, at our little home, and we run off only rainwater! We are in Western Australia in Rudds Gully, just south of Cape Burney in Geraldton! Compost toilets sound a bit icky and such, but they're AMAZINGLY beneficial to the environment! I loved seeing one on a larger scale briefly 🥰 Loved this video!❤️❤️❤️ Good luck!!!

the way they talk about tasmania in tasmania is how the whos spoke about whoville, lov it seeing you and dan is so so so sweet, yall are truly meant for eachother its so clear and lovely. so happy for this new adventure you two are bounding on together! the house is just so beautiful, oh my word! and the egg shaped windows allaround, it was meant to be!✨ as far as plants if theyre large and established enough you can dig it up roots/rootball etc and replant it somewhere else in a few days. thats how plant nurseries worked before plastic was invented!
