A couple of my subscribers and I have been planing an epic road trip across Belgium... but with a twist. Instead of riding motorcycles as I usually do, we decided to ride mopeds. Of course, we had to further challenge ourselves by implementing a 400 EUR budget per person. This includes buying, fixing, and modding the mopeds. I ended up picking up a couple of honda px 50 and honda pxr 50 to complete my trip.

Hello can you tell me the topspeed of the honda px50 i have one but mine only does about 35km/h and if its possible the carburator size

The top speed on the PX50 is 40km/h. I'm using the stock carb.

did they not have pedals from factory? and cluch what hondas did i buy they ar compleatly diferent

Aren’t they not mopeds if they don’t have pedals? It’s kinda in the name… mo-ped. Motorized bicycle. Kinda implies it’s got pedals.

Zijn helaas niet de makkelijkste brommers om sneller te laten gaan. 70cc cilinder en uitlaat helpt al een beetje maar als je er nog meer uit wil halen moet je de vario bewerken en camino membraan/carb steken hiervoor moet je de je wel de inlaat een beetje bewerken om deze te laten passen.

Nee hoor staat gewoon op bromfiets kenteken. Had men nummerplaat nog niet gekregen dus dacht een random plaat is beter dan geen plaat. 😅

I think an interesting project would be doing the same thing, but with a few more months, and trying to make the cheap mopeds as quiet as possible. You might need to encase the engine in foam, to insulate the noise, and have the intake of the engine be a muffler, and the exhaust a bigger muffler. It would be really interesting how quiet could you get a cheap moped/scooter, since the main reason people dislike them is their significantly louder noise.

The PX-R 50 (the red one) has a stock exhaust which is already very quiet. You can't hear it much over the wind noise. Encasing the engine would cause a lot of issues, mainly cooling as these are air-cooled engines.

Um, those are not mopeds. Mopeds have a 49cc engine and functional pedals. The word MOPED actually means MOtor and PEDals. I have owned 17 mopeds since 1975, and still have two, a 1979 Sears Free Spirit, made by Puch/Kromag in Austria, and a Solex 3800, made sometime in the 1970s in France.

I currently own 12 mopeds... and I don't mind them calling these "mopeds".. Where we are from any "stepthru" style bike is called a moped. Loosen up my man.

@@plustnsend Nope. I agree with Gerald. A MOPED has a MOtor and PEDals. “Period” (as they say in USA). Anything else with no pedals but a motor is a motor cycle (or ‘motor bicycle’ as is the legal term in the UK). The film maybe fun (I’m about to watch it) but the title is just plain wrong.

@@leslieaustin151 interesting, because the first ever moped was called the "motoped", it didn't have pedals.... In new zealand all stepthrus are known as a moped.

These used to come with pedals but they got removed since there is also a kickstarter and electric start. If you look closely in the video you can still see where the pedals used to mount.
