I actually still have nitro classic and personally, I don’t understand why they can’t have 3 options. It’s nitro basic and still has the HD streaming. Super reactions and whatnot. It’s just the profiles and themes, and even the discount for boosts. Bring it back!!

I bought discord nitro classic before they "removed", but in Poland you had nitro classic for 10 PLN (which is 2.50 $ and actually was a good deal back then before all the new stuff). After they introduced nitro basic crap they decided to make it cost more than classic (basic currently costs 13 PLN), wtf discord.

I definitely get your "take the 5 bucks and give me the streaming or take zero bucks and I take the streaming for myself" stance. Respectable.

It seems they caught onto that and removed this option, trying to buy Classic gives you a message saying 'invalid plan'

I've been using Vencord for a while, and the moment I started using it, it became my new favourite client mod. BetterDiscord straight up sucks and Powercord/Replugged was pretty good but it had some complications and straight up stopped working on my system after a certain update. Vencord is easier and more versatile so there isn't any reason to use any other client mod until further notice

Also don't forget "classic" used to have a 100MB upload limit and two included boosts. Now it's 50MB and no boosts.

8:25 correction, you get 2 per week with a cap of 5. ive been a nitro classic user since 2019, i've been keeping an eye on the new features and some of them are just the basic tier.

Theory they probably left it for those who still had it when basic was released and never changed the plan

Pro tip: if you have an iPhone (idk bout android) you can go to settings, your Apple account, subscriptions, and if you had a subscription before and you can see it, press the arrow and then there should be a “see all plans” option, there you can buy basic, classic, an regular, as well as extra boosts that come with it (discount added)

It would be nice if they itemized the subscription so we can choose which features we want and which we don’t.

Its exactly what samsung did with the note 20 / note 20 ultra. The basic 'cheap' one was soo bad, It made the ultra version worth it in comparison

I bought Nitro Classic specifically for the same features as Nitro with the exception of a prettier profile header, thanks for bringing this to attention.

The reason i have full Nitro rather than Classic is because of the included server boosts and the 500 megabyte upload limit. That upload limit basically makes it an infinite file storage system as long as the files are split up in 500 megabytes or less, and they all have direct links i can give people too.

I regred cancelling nitro classic months ago, was nice having just an animated avatar of clint eastwood being a cowboy, without the other fancy profile stuff.

While i feel the whole profile banner, custom colors, etc etc is cool, i don't think they're worth paying for. Of all the Nitro features the only one that i think works for me is the bigger text messages and upload size.

good to see that this is still an option, i've been stuck on a classic subscription for like two years because i subscribed through google and have no clue what email i used. classic is pretty good but i wish i could just get basic instead since i dont really want to spend 5 dollars on a chat platform every month

Nitro classic should be what it says. The classic version. You get the basics but no new features like super reactions and stuff.

i had classic from before and my discord says as long as I keep it active I can stay on classic so I have, but I do often wonder if its worth, I do a lot of media streaming so I have felt 5 is better then 10 for video, but they seem be removing abilities from classic that it had before what are not listed to I assume get people off of it, basic can do few things classic cannot, and some times it seems like discord doesn't even recognize me as a nitro user as it will some times ask me buy nitro while I have it... so its a odd spot be in, I feel like classic is just streaming tier plus emotes

The "HD Streaming" feature missing from basic is such a weird complaint to me because I have nitro and every time I try to stream in 1080p60 half the VC's internet cannot handle it and I have to drop to 720p60 anyway

The only benefit nitro actually offers is the upload size, and there's plugins that interface with a selfhosted filehost embed link to replicate that anyway. On top of the plugin for bypassing the streaming locks, that only leaves emotes, which are half-assed in the spoofed versions, but good enough. Don't forget, Revolt's platform is very cozy and on top of being selfhostable (in a federated and non-federated fashion) and fully open source, they're also adding proper end to end encryption (including for group chats) soon. It already has feature parity with discord, so if you're on the lookout for alternative platforms, give Revolt a shot!

RIP Classic, discord patched this out. You get an invalid plan error now when trying to subscribe.

I mostly get Nitro for the 500MB Upload, HD Streaming, Longer Messages, and More Servers I can join. Classic is nice for people who just want a slightly higher upload and a nice screen sharing, why discord got rid of Classic dont know. Discord playing the dumb card on giving their users a better plan

Psychonauts is so gud, I play it over and over again every few years just to relive it, sad that games are not as good now a days.

Man I don't even use discord, nor am I thinking about ever spending money on that platform, but your videos are just so entertaining.

I used to have Nitro Classic but Basic has all the same features I cared about and also stickers too, and the monthly price of Basic was cheaper in the long term than the yearly price of Classic, so I switched to Basic to get more features for less money. Then they introduced a yearly plan for Basic so I am giving even less money to Discord while taking advantage of more features than I had with Classic. Your loss, Discord.

On my iPhone 8+ in the App Store under "available plans" for Discord I've found classic within the list. There's a few options regarding boosts and the lengths of the subscriptions. I've no clue if it even works because I didn't buy it but it's there. Probably don't make a video on this just in case Discord catches on.

I used to have Nitro Classic till this year June 11th. I was a subscriber for exactly 2 years I began my subscription exactly on June 11th 2021, and they let me keep it as long as I paid for it. Then they removed the # numbers, and it wasn't worth for me anymore, so I canceled it, but legit it was the best subscription Discord ever offered.

Doesn't work anymore, it gives "Invalid plan" during checkout. I was kind of on the fence anyway. Had classic for 2 maybe 3 years but let it expire with some of their more unfavorable choices. Just ran off a 3 month free from Game Pass and figured I'd give 'em 1 more year to see how things go, but guess they don't want my $50 anymore.

I still happen to have it, since fortunately if you still pay for it, you keep it. Nice that they let you keep it, but not nice that they completely removed it from the purchase page.

I don't think Nitro Classic is worth it at this point since you can easily get into a server that is boosted and stream in higher quality to your friends there. It's really just a minor annoyance.

I think that it still exists because people who bought classic nitro for a year would basically get scammed and discord would get a lawsuit so they will probably remove it exactly after a year of nitro classic removal.

I can still buy classic on my old phone, but it's so out of date that now clicking on a profile with the new username system crashes it. It's the version that had "Quote" before they implemented the replies feature

honestly basic actually works well for me. i never stream in discord, i really want emotes everywhere and the increased upload size is *enough* for me.

i have an idea for nitro, you select the features you want and each feature you add puts more to the overall cost, so you could get hd streaming custom emojis and the 500mb limit while only paying lets say 5-6 dollars for it.

I got a year of nitro classic about a month before basic came out and I'm not renewing it. Initially it was kinda cool to have something you can't really get anymore but after a while I realised they were not gonna be giving any new features the regular plan was getting and they would make existing features less useful. Nowadays it's not too hard to find a t3 server to stream in if you want high quality. The only other reasons I had it was the custom tag and higher upload limit. The upload limit was recently changed for non nitro users to like 20mb or something, which is more than enough most of the time. I'd get annoyed uploading like 10mb files before so there no point in using nitro for that anymore

I used discord nitro but the only reason I do is because for some odd reason I can stream at my resolution (1440p60fps) I had downgraded from nitro before all the new stuff came in.

I was so deceived because offering Classic Nitros was a great way to send gifts to my friends for their birthdays or any events, also because i'm a lazy fuck and finding something relevant is above my competences. But with Nitro Basic it felt useless to gift them and even a bit stingy y'know, however I really really could not afford to just give away the double I used to give, so I just stopped sharing and haven't offered any Nitro since... And ngl I was paying around as much in nitro gifts as my own subscription (I was on Nitro Classic and I just really like gifting things to my friends to make them happy) so I just switched to full Nitro and sadly had to restrain myself to sending a fun gif for their birthdays... Also I kinda need a form of Nitro because as a musician sending audio files became quickly hard to do with the size limits. However it changed since (25MB for vanilla users iirc) and i could technically get back down to vanilla, but my yearly subscription is on Christmas and I never have any idea for Christmas, so that's my gift to myself every year lol.

When Nitro came out I loved it. I was willing to give them a small amount of money, because I use Discord everyday. I waited for new Features comming to Nitro. But what happened instead. They force me to pay double the amount for new features WTF. I felt betrayed. Since then, I never bought Nitro again. 10Euro per Month is way too expensivel. 3€ would be the perfect price.

when they got rid of the games that was it and i canceled and haven't paid since, for bonus fun it broke something in my computers directory when they removed it because the game i still had installed simultaneously registered as installed and not installed so i couldnt get rid of it because it wasnt there but it was there taking up space and being an annoyance having to look at it every time i went into the application manger or even just the start menu since windows was convinced there was still a working executable there and could not be convinced otherwise. i eventually had to dig into the directory manually and wipe all traces of it which finally worked tldr:not only did they remove the only feature i felt was worth paying for it broke something in my computer when they did it

Originally Discord Nitro was 1080p/60FPS and Nitro Classic was 1080p/30FPS OR 720p/60FPS, so it boggles me that classic was upgraded to 1440p/60FPS either right before or after Classic was officially discontinued.

Hiiii so I just wanted to share something I've had nitro classic ever since it shut down and I never canceled the subscription and it kept me on the Nitro Classic subscription. After such a long time starting on July 30th, I was charged an extra $4.51 and was upgraded to Regular Nitro. Im ddebating on keeping regular Nitro or not but just wanted to let eveyrone know that atleast for me it canceled my Nitro classic and changed it to regular Nitro. Make sure you check what you're getting billed!

Hey I'm the 13 year old guy who you from your discord server. I was not e dating, someone just asked me about my pfp. I have that pfp because I do bodybuilding and I have other discord servers I'm on. It's kinda unfair that I have to get kicked because I have that pfp even if it doesn't contain inappropriate content and I wasn't e dating.

My phone touch screen a while ago was on in my pocket and I was shocked to see it bought classic nitro for a year and it literally isnt noticable at all, my phone scammed me (I couldnt refund cause I noticed it weeks later)

I still have Classic, or at least for 2 more months. I will probably jump over to Nitro the normal one though.
