I’ve owned my 2.0L16v corrado for 15 year. And will never sell it. I Iove it, and yep they do smell different 😅. I went on vw cruise and met a small community of vw owners and loved it, I sat in my first corrado, a white G60. I loved it and said some day I’ll have one too. And since then I have done everything to learn everything I can about these cars

Great story Matt. I feel the same way about my corrado. My black corrado vr6 takes me back to my teenage driving days when I lusted after a mk3 gti vr6. I finally bought one of my own on 1/4/03 with 30,404 miles on it at 19 years old after working a whole year for my grandfather as a mason tender and working part time at a local restaurant. Those numbers will stay with me forever. 10 years later I sold the car but soon after regretted it. In 2019, I found my black corrado vr6 in fairly original condition. Like you experienced, it was love at first sight (and sound) when I saw this particular corrado in person. I actually followed the previous owner on Instagram and saw the great care he had for the car. To me, my black corrado vr6 is my way to relive my teenage dream car with a more mature look (imho) of my black mk3 GTi vr6

I own two Corrado’s now and had four total in my lifetime, and they do have a nice smell. I love it. I have a MK2 as well and it definitely has a unique smell too.

I love the passion!!!! I love VWs but I also love old Hondas. Reminds me of how I felt (and still feel) when talking about them!

I haven't driven the VR6 but I did drive the G60 and still have one. Always liked the looks and the handling and the power of these little cars. Nothing like it in looks and driving experience

Agree Matt, especially on the smell. Refurbing the rear axle on mine and brakelines, often open the door just to get a sniff. Cheers for making videos, not enough out there on the corrado. I've had mk2 and mk3s but the Corrado is on another level.

I remember this car, you bought it from my friend, do you still have the book? The car sat for a bit cos it went though numerous engines, axels, door handles and small stuff. It was hell of a car when it worked.

@@NoWayNick that's awesome! Yes I bought it from Chris who bought it from Zach, the original builder. I don't know about a book, but I do have a binder with all the car's receipts since brand new. I have also replaced all of those parts except for the engine lol. It's an amazing car with a cool local history!
