Hey! Be sure to take the Java fern and anubias out of the substrate and stick them into decor as their roots will rot if left in the substrate. Their roots feed from the water column rather than the substrate like other plants.

You should probably build your own wooden stands for the tanks. Those racks weight limit is for dead weight. Water however is live weight so over time its a disaster waiting to happen Building your own stand u can have multiple tanks of same size= more fish tanks and fishes.

The important thing about axolotles is to keep the water temperature low so hopefully you don’t come across any problems with living in Florida, if you do you could try get a aquarium cooler but I’m sure there really expensive

That 20 gallon works for now but it won’t be long until those axolotls need at least a 40 gallon breeder for them both.

Salt would be cool, but that big of an indoor salt pond would require a HUGE system to control the minerals and the salt eroding the walls. Might not be a good idea but idk you can probably figure a way out

Try an endanger Freshwater Fish with there own subrate & filter. Get it ready so that the Freshwater Fish will be happy and actually start to breed. You should try a rare breed of Molly, Platy, ect that can will long and even proster by it.

Hey Paul great vid just saying you should try to get a tank with a lot of surface area instead of height for axolotls but if you want a taller tank I recommend a 40 also I say saltwater for the pond but instead of predators you could make a giant coral reef that would be sick

Years ago I was at my local aquarium shop, looking at what was new. The owner was feeding, particularly a very expensive eel, and housed with it was a less expensive larger eel. The moment he threw in the shrimp I believe, the expensive eel grabbed first, and a millisecond after the larger eel grabbed both, gater rolled and removed the expensive eels head. We all sat there stunned. Expensive feeding.

If you are going to get live plants, you need to at least give them the proper care that they need to survive. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but what you have there are some really basic plants and I can already see that they probably won't make it. That tank needs root tabs in the substrate. You also need to take the java fern and anubias out of the sand because they will rot in it. Don't get plants if you are just going to kill them.

for people who want a axolotl HOW TO GET: 1. dont be cheap 2. dont take too much out of the wild 3. they cant get out water for long so you will need a bucket of water with a cap that can close 4. go to lake xochimilco in mexico city when looking for axolotl 5. as a baby, they eat plankton, as a kid/teenager, they eat water fleas , as a adult they eat earthworms bloodworms fish larva insects and pellets 6. axolotls should eat earthworms as a diet they can eat pellets but they should eat their earth worms first (its like lunch before dessert) 7. NEVER ever use wild earthworms buy earthworms from mexico pet shop that has axolotls (blood worms are also healthy for them most likely they eat worms) 8. DO not mix them with other animals espically enemies 9. they need certain water conditions (its ok to use lake xochimilco water) 10. their tank needs an axolotl playground more darkness and more hiding spots such as caves and plants and the axolotl needs entertainment (they like to play in bubble collumns and other stuff) 11.they need a mum to watch them if its a baby won 12.the tank needs a closing so no axolotls swim and fall out the tank 13.they do not like being touched and handled so if you like touching/handling pets, axolotls arent the right for you 14. dont release them back in the wild , like other animals if u put a pet animal back in the wild they wont know how to be that animal because they need you for food and water just like axolotls they cant be released back in the wild 15. dont mix them with other fishes or amphibians or any animal that lives in water 16. dont put salt water they need lake xochimilco water
