Congratulations Alan, the video and the way you explain the foreigners to invest in real estate in Colombia is very clear and also explains with sufficience experience and accurate about to the Colombian real estate market and the empty that colombian´s Law has to protect the buyers and also the sellers to not have escrow agreement of the money from the buyer and the real estate from the seller. Thanks for the info.im getting a new apartment in medellin and i send all my money to my lawyers.and they deoosit it .into the bank.and i agree with you must of these banks are so messy!! Lucky i got my lawyer!!

Really well done video again. I'd rather pay a lawyer like you a few grand to do this stuff when the time comes if I purchase a home and land in Colombia. Wire from my brokerage and boom, done.

Thank you for this information. Do you have to start making monthly payments right away if you put a down payment on property? I'm currently not working. I'm living off of my savings but I would like to put maybe 30% down on an apartment to secure it.

I have a Schwab international brokerage account. Do I still need to set up a brokerage account in Colombia ? Or can I transfer direct from Schwab account?

If you are not a resident in Colombia and have to bring funds into Colombia and register those funds in the Central Bank as a foreign investment, the only way to do it is via a brokerage account in Colombia. If you are a resident, sometimes they might still not allow you to bring money in or register it as a foreign direct investment

I am buying a new Condo in Barranquilla from the builder. building is complete. I paid my Seperation to Fiduciaria Bogota with my american credit card. I was told I could pay the entire purchase price in payments with my Credit card. each time I go on I have to indicate the property and give my Passport information for identification. Is this method safe? I like paying with my credit card for the points and it is attached to my bank accounts so I can pay off immediately

Hi, Craig. If you pay with your credit card, you won´t be able to get a visa based on that. The funds to buy a property should be legally registered in front of Central Bank.
