Takes me back to my Mechanic days working on Cat Dozers. Sure glad I retired but still live within 10 miles of where I spent 25 years working. I go up on a weekly basis and help the young fellers understand.

My YM2000B sat untouched in the building for 15 years. I installed a new battery 2 months ago, and it fired up as if it was parked yesterday. I installed a 7 foot Ford sickle bar, and now use it once a week on ditches, and around 3 ponds. Gotta love the old Yanmars.

great job!!! if i can offer any advise it would be about air filters. Naturally aspirated diesels love lots of fresh air. Sometimes paper filters get wet in high humidity and won't let the air through. Would recommend a screen type filter. Paper or felt filters are more for dusty dry days with blowing sand and dust.

When splitting tractors you should always wedge the front axle so front half doesn't flop to the side . Cut yourself a couple wood block wedges and wedge them in the front,it's a good thing that is an oversized garden tractor and not something like a deere 7930
@MitzvosGolem14 жыл бұрын
Made that mistake ...lol
@waffenbear1172 жыл бұрын
Lol my dad just about flipped when he told me to pull ours apart and I just let the front half fall.
@darellsunderlin46704 жыл бұрын
You might want to switch sides on those rear tires , you'll have better clean out of mud & better traction , they will fill up with mud if you get into a muddy spot .

When it comes to small tractors i like iseki, my tx1500 (g174) when i got it the engine oil had not been changed in 14 years, i have since changed it, it is a very reliable and powerful machine, i would definitly buy another one

The color of that fluid is indicative of water getting into the oil. Had a Ford that did that. The problem turned out to be a bad head gasket and the coolant was mixing with the oil. It got to the point that brown foam was oozing out of the oil filler cap. A cracked head can have the same result. I would suspect you've got more than one problem...the stripped gear isn't related to the chocolate milkshake oil.

Just did the cluch in my ym155d last week...water in the oil from the shift boot...you can still get parts for these...rust on forks water was coming in..4ft bushhog. Way to big..finish mower maybe...woods rm42 is what i have works good. That's why your transmission to clutch splines are wareing bad...grease in that coupling helps
@TheMechanicDave4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it handles the 4ft brush hog good power wise, it is just a little heavy for the tractor

I'm curious if the blades on the mower turned the right direction? I was told to stay away from those grey market tractors as the PTO shafts turned the wrong direction. I didn't see or hear how the transmission got repaired? Was you able to get a good used transmission from somewhere?
@TheMechanicDave4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the pto turns the same way I think some of the old gray market Kubota’s had the backwoods pto, I had a parts tractor with a blown engine is where I got the transmission from

I see those older smaller Japanese tractors on Craigslist occasionally for under $3,000 and I wonder if their 4 wheel drive would better handle a snowblower attachment than my Toro 522xi? How hard is it to find parts for them?
@TheMechanicDave4 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure on a snow blower, I use mine mainly for mowing but the Yanmars are pretty easy to get parts for
@isekifarm93884 жыл бұрын
Buy an iseki, my tx1500 is 17 horsepower, has a front pto for a snowblower and is super reliable Your three japanese tractor options are, kubota, iseki and yanmar Yanmar is probably the worst out of the three

There isn't a cheapest 4x4 tractor, you just bought it cheap from somewhere, also it was not in perfect condition so its not really a fair say, but a really good looking tractor, yanmar, iseki, hinomoto, mitsubishi, kubota all of them are 10/10 japanese tractors
@forcesightknight4 жыл бұрын
Just STAY AWAY FROM KIOTI. mine has less than 400 hours on it and the front bucket mount has broke from stress. Most likely because it's made from recycled tin cans and bottle caps or some other crap real companies didnt waste their money on. Kioti is the WORST with quality control. The US dealers may as well sell Crack, because anyone that owns a Crapioti has to constantly OVER PAY for parts. That are made from the same shitty steal as the rest of the tractor. PAY A LITTLE MORE FOR QUALITY, so you won't end up with a money pit.
@KingBigBabyJesus4 жыл бұрын
@@forcesightknight should be covered under warranty the 6 year unlimited hour warranty then? and I believe kioti is manufactured by the world's largest steel manufacturer, never said it was good steel. So I take it a backhoe wouldn't be a good idea on one of these? Guess there's a reason its 10k less than kubota

It's a sad shame so many commenters make comments before actually watching the video clear through. Then make dumb stupid troll like advice that was addressed in the vid. By end of video you did a good job seems like a pretty good tractor. The only thing I wonder is how does this fit with the title as buying cheapest tractor you could find? I get the fact this tractor needed serious work that would make it cheap. But you just happen to have a second tractor for parts that fit? Sounds like you bought 2 tractors to make one or you specifically looked for another tractor like the one you had. In this case title is very misleading because I watched this for tips on finding a cheap compact tractor for my 5 acres homestead. Tired of spending $3,000 plus for lawn/garden tractors that fall apart in 3 to 5 years and won't even do all the work.
