Haha, YES to the difference in this chap's expression in the before and after shots! That slow, confident blink and the sly little twinkle in his eye! Love it! I happened to watch this video AFTER the recent interview with the master barber himself (have been catching up on subs) and you can see EXACTLY what he's talking about here regarding the service a good barbershop offers being more than just a haircut. Simply awesome stuff!

So it's been about 2 months since I last had a beard trim. I'm planning to go in soon. My beard is kind of wild, not quite like the gentleman's from the vid several days back but close. It can look a little rough if I just let it dry so I apply my beard oil and straighten it out with my barrel brush and blow dryer. After this it really comes into a nice subtle mix between round and square. So my question is should I go in for the trim au natural or straighten it like usual? Thanks in advance fellow beardsmen!

Hey Steve, So, our advice would be to go in without straightening your beard, just so that your barber will be able to work with your natural beard and see what you're truly working with in terms of density and coverage. That being said, be sure to let your barber know that you do typically straighten your beard with a barrel brush and blow dryer. That may affect the way your beard is cut by your particular barber. Better safe than sorry! Hope this helps! - Jack

A lot of people just wear gloves so they don't get tiny hair splinters. My mother was a dog groomer and did the same, although dog hair is usually a bit more coarse than human.
