Being an uber driver myself.... the only time I don't rate someone 5 stars is if they were absolutely terrible... So these people shouldn't really be very surprised lol

I still remember that when I was in London I was going from my hotel to a party so my brother called for a driver in Uber.That guy was Indian and he was really kind and friendly.He was so into talking to us that he forgot to accept and put up the fair which should be deducted from my Dad's card.When we reached our destination he realized that he made a mistake.We wanted to pay him by cash but he was so sweet that he didn't want to take the money instead he told us rate him 5.That was the first time I realized that Indians are nice people.He was so happy talking to us that he totally rejected the money.I wish I could meet that man again.God bless him.

I see why they didn't tell us how to find out our rating now... I had to Google it to find out. Here's how... 1) You need to the Uber Help website (use Google to find this) 2) Sign in 3) Under the account section, click more. 4) Then click "I'd like to know my rating" 5) Then press submit on the next page 6) Then wait for an email which will finally tell you your passenger rating. 7) I'm still waiting... *EDIT:* I finally got the email from a Maria. "Thanks for reaching out! Your rating is an average of all your trips taken so far. At this time, it is 5." They must be really generous because I am not a good passenger, haha XD

I've had a 4.85 for over 4 years, then we moved 5 months ago and 2 drivers knocked it down to 4.57. The area where we moved to is by a really busy freeway and it seems the drivers we get out here are more nastier to people than where we had been before. I'm glad I'll be getting a new car in the next 2 months as I'm sick of these people here.

All taxi drivers dislike this video, i dont understand taxi drivers, they have competence and they start to break uber drivers cars, is like apple goes to microsoft offices and starts destroying them

it's quite obvious that your average joe would get a high rating (4-5). On the other hand, it's probably only utter bell end's who get otherwise.

I have a 4.39 Uber rating as a passenger and I’ve only been using Uber the past 6 months. I have no idea why is isn’t straight up 5 stars, I’m friendly, polite, don’t smell, respect their car, have good convo etc etc. every time I’ve got out of an Uber car it has been a pleasant experience yet I see my rating just go lower and lower. And I always give 5 stars.. what’s up with that?

I don't like the idea of rating passengers. I am a paying patron. If problematic, note that and warn me, suspend or cancel my account. I shouldn't have to be concerned about a rating system as long as I am a decent human being - which I am. I usually take Via, but occasionally take Uber. My rating is fine for those wondering, but I worry about having to be perfect as though I am offering the service. I mentioned a driver's seat was dirty, so I was going to sit elsewhere. I asked if it was okay, very kindly. He totally went off, telling me the price of his car, etc. I responded kind - thinking of my rating. I shouldn't have to. I am the paying passenger. Also, they may mark people for unfair reasons. NYC yellow taxi drivers discriminate. Who's to say Uber drivers (some are the same people) won't rate people a certain way as a discriminatory practice?

Uber drivers are way too touchy and don't rate honestly. This guy took the biggest detour, ever (cost me an extra £10 for a 10 minute journey was super late and kept revving his car. I rated him 2 stars, he saw me do it, AND THEN RATED ME ONE STAR. He took my 5 star rating to 3 stars, I was so irritated! I didn't even talk to him throughout the entire journey and was completely silent because I had my headphones in. I don't trust Uber anymore.

Why do some people place more importance on a candy wrapper left by a previous passenger than for getting across town safely. It makes me sad that some people make themselves feel better by putting other people down by any method possible. Rider ratings are often unfair but perhaps better than nothing.

Got 5* for a 10 rides. Sometimes i talk with the drives, sometimes not. For the last rides i was speaking about burgers in our city, cause i asked to ride throught the MCdonalds, and the drivers was cool and calm about it)

Uber has removed your rating from being seen by the driver prior to the driver selecting "accept ride" based on your rating. So it literally doesn't matter anymore. More safety issues as a driver.

Passengers do not have to worry about the rate at all.

One problem if your rating is below 5 the driver had go out their way down grade you!

It really makes no difference what the passengers ratings are. Uber/Lyft will never deactivate a passenger based on their rating. However, if a driver gets a 4.5 or below average rating, then they can be deactivated, no questions asked. Uber/Lyft are horrible companies when it comes to drivers.

New riders with just a few rides can look bad if even 1 driver gives them a 1 star - even if all their other rides are 5 stars...

It’s rare I give a passenger less than 5 stars. If you rate 3 stars or less Uber and Lyft both will make it so it’s not likely you’ll get paired with that person again. Way I see it, that takes future business away from me. Only people I’ve rated 3 star or less were violent ones who bit, slapped or hit me. Drunk and obnoxious I expect from driving the graveyard shift. Better in my car than behind the wheel of their own.
