Sounded like the driver of the tanker started in 3rd on a cold start. Maybe even 4th depending on the transmission.

3 engines to a chimney fire. In the UK one pump would be sent and if any additional appliances were required, they would be requested by the officer in charge of the first attendance.
@YelpBullhorn

Rob , I think that's because here in the UK, we have the common sense to build our houses out of bricks. And in a land of wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes they build theirs out of wood!!!
@robertmansfield1028

I agree. Perhaps the Insurance Companies are quite happy to pay out claims where the property was built of wood!!! and not bricks and mortar

+Robert Mansfield They are not engines, One is an engine(the first vehicle seen) the second is a tanker, which carries water, which means they do not have a steady stream of water in the area in the form of a fire hydrant, the third is a ladder which would be good to use if the fire has made it to the roof. Everything responding at once is faster then having the engine show up first and going...WELLLLL we are going to need a lot more equipment then waiting for the support to arrive. If it isn't needed...well then they just return back to quarters not really a big problem.

+TCRStaff, mere technicalities. Here in the UK they're all engines. And the point that Rob and I both raised is three whatever-they're-calleds turning out to a chimney fire in Britain is almost unheard of, as explained in both of our previous comments. The only UK chimney fire that would merit a multiple response that I can think of would be to one in a thatched cottage. PDAs to such properties can include up to five engines. For those that don't know, in the UK a PDA is a predetermined attendance; and a big red thing with flashing lights that goes nee-narr and woo-woo-woo is a fire engine!

YelpBullhorn it's not technicalities. 1. This is a volunteer fire department so if they have enough volunteers respond they will take as many trucks as they can. 2. Even brick chimneys can catch on fire. 3. This is a rural area meaning no hydrants. The first unit seen in this video might not have enough hose to reach to the nearest hydrant (and that first unit probably carries around 1000 feet of hose) the second unit carries lots of water and a portable water tank they can dump water into and go refill somewhere else while the other trucks are sucking water out of the portable tank, then come back and refill that tank. 3. That first unit doesn't carry many ground ladders because it is an engine company. The ladder truck (3rd unit) carries a bunch more ground ladders and has a large 75 foot ladder with a bucket at the end and a master stream attached to it. If the first unit got dispatched and found out they needed more help, it could take anywhere from 5-15 minutes for more help to arrive because is a volunteer department. And 4. You live in the UK. This is the US, different firefighting tactics. Just a few fun facts trying to explain some things :)
