What a great performance! I love this piece, and I conducted it on my channel. They were a bit fast at the end there, but overall, a fantastic performance from this group of young students! Great job!

I’m sorry, but I strongly believe this band wasn’t ready for this piece. I’ve listened to probably a dozen different recordings of Arabesque, and this was definitely the worst one. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very difficult piece to play. But you shouldn’t push your students THIS far.

I'd definitely have to disagree. For what seems to be a high school production this was absolutely phenomenal and I've also listened to many recordings of arabesque and even adult ensembles that have sounded worse than this.

After listening to this a few more times, I’ve noted that the only real problem with the woodwinds was the tuning. The brass are a mess, to be honest, but most of the percussion knew what they were doing. Perhaps I was a bit harsh, and the sound issues could be because the audio quality is subpar. I’m curious though, could you give me some links to recordings that you felt were worse than this?

@@AstroStarPersonthe mallets were possibly the worst I’ve seen, and that’s probably because they didn’t have any mallet percussion dedicated person (trust me when I say it’s actually a really good thing if you have multiple people only focus on mallets, like me, I mainly focus on the vibes and xylo primarily) other than that the rest of the percussion section was really good
