love the vid. Suggestion, get some lav mics. The sound is soft but then blows me away occasionally. Brought back a lot of memories of my trips!

Thanks for the feedback. We have experimented with different sound options. We do have some different mics, including lapel mics, but they bring their own logistical difficulties in the wilderness (keeping dry, powered up, sound testing, etc.). But the feedback is noted... stay tuned.

I just watched your trip, and realized it coincided with mine. I was in the canoe on Mountain May 20 you noticed. I camped that night at "Clearwater campsite 5" - near the Mountain portage. The outfitter from Clearwater was guiding me for that day - my first in the BWCA. The next day I portaged (East side) to Caribou where I based camped on "#5" (east end). Like you, no luck in Mountain. Some big smallies in Caribou. Well, that was my very first trip and I loved it! Great watching your videos. I remember the weather...can't believe you went out your first day.

Hey Ryan and Mark. Been watching your videos for a while now and loved the Wingin' It videos. I watched this probably last November, December the first time and thought it was awesome in particular because my two friends and I stayed at that campsite you liked on Caribou in July 2019 for 5 nights. It's an awesome campsite. One friend caught probably almost a state record Walleye about 200-300 yards east of the creek entry you were fishing. It should still be there because of course we let a hog like that go! You were fishing the right area in the East end of the lake hugging fairly close to shore in the trough there. I've fished Caribou three times and it's a great fishing lake. I'm headed out of Sawbill this July with my two boys and girlfriend...looking for Hot Rock. Bill
@mstarksoUpperLipOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! We figured that is a good fishing lake. We were fighting wind and it was only maybe a week or two from ice out. It was a nice area. Have fun at Sawbill! There are a ton of great fishing lakes in the area. Maybe we’ll see you out there?!

Upper Lip Outdoors curious about how far down Mountain Lake you guys got? How many campsites did you pass?
@mstarksoUpperLipOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Just one. We apparently didn’t go down far enough. There’s a reef that you can see from the satellite pictures that you need to troll across. We did not have that intel at the time.
@williamjohnson8524 жыл бұрын
Upper Lip Outdoors yeah i have that intel too. I’m looking to camp on the second or third site for a couple nights before heading east to Moose lake for more trout fishing. Keep up the good work on the videos, both my wife and I enjoy watching. “Day 2 morning” makes me smile every time

@mstarksoUpperLipOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Don’t need them if you stay off Canadian shore. Thanks for watching!
@scotter63214 жыл бұрын
Upper Lip Outdoors You must have a Canada license to fish Canadian border waters. Read the 2019 Minnesota fishing regulations page 55...border rules have not changed. Don’t spread misinformation!
@scotter63214 жыл бұрын
Minnesota regulation book page 55. Can I fish anywhere on the border waters with a Minnesota license? • In Canadian border waters, Minnesota residents or nonresidents fishing with a Minnesota nonresident license, may only fish the Minnesota portion of the Canadian border waters. To fish the Canadian portion, you must have a Canadian license. • In other border waters, Minnesota residents or nonresidents fishing with a Minnesota nonresident license, may fish throughout the defined waters bordering the two states
