Күн бұрынThe classic pattern to cover a wide variety of mayflies. Tied in BWO, this pattern can be tied in a variety of sizes from 12-22. This one is tied on a size 20 Firehole #419 hook.
When skies are overcast and it's hard to see, this wing can be easier to see than a CDC wing. Finding the right deer hair is important as it has to be able to float the fly.
Hook: TMC 100, Daiichi 1100 Size 14-20. Firehole Size 20 #419 used here.

Juan, amazing skill at tying that small versatile pattern! I've tied a lot of Compara Duns, Fran Better's Haystacks and his Usual, but none as small as your size 20 🤯Back in the day, I even asked my Mom to save me her old nylons for trailing shucks! Those patterns saved me from strugling to find good dry fly hackle when I first started tying flies. Another outstanding production sir, right down to that chorus of tiny BWOs singing in that awesome background music, perfection! 😉 👍Thank you!

Thanks Joe. I am going to be fishing more of these this summer for Trico duns. They are a bit more visible than some of the stuff I’ve been throwing and a bit more durable than the CDC version.

@@HopperJuan Sounds great. I like working with deer hair. Trouble is I don't have the "juice" to drag 'em out of the woods any more, and ticks🕷are a big problem here in the north east. You do any thing with snow shoe rabbit? Love those feet, ha, those tracks in the snow looks like you're chasing Bugs Bunny! Thanks Juan, continued success to you!
