Why Kubota made a plastic fan is beyond me, but your idea is a great one, especially when you think about going through all the steps to R&R a broken fan, then go out and bust up another one, only to have to do the job all over again. Thanks for the short cut will use if and when my fan goes south on me.

Thanks for this video, I’ve an earlier version of the BX25 so the easier fan replacement strategies that don’t involve moving the engine don’t work. I was happy to see this suggestion and so far it’s worked well. One comment - the fan I bought, which corresponded to that specified in the Kubota manual, was slightly larger than the original. That, coupled with the fact that it is installed on the outside of the original rotor, meant that it risked hitting the metal lines which run right by the blades. Therefore I removed about 1/4” from each of the blades and recontoured them back to the original shape.

I should be #9 now. I like it, will be going this route here shortly. Just went through the move engine etc. earlier this year only to drive over something a couple weeks ago hauling my granddaughter's deer out of the woods and didn't see anything but sure as hell heard the noise. Just got my fan yesterday and might just try rivets. Kudo's-

Talk about a Mickey Mouse job 😂 I have a bx and I do my research when I buy something and the first thing it told me was get a fan guard as soon as you get it.

I just did the same thing with a 2018 BX2380, cut the fan in half and screwed on. Why you would make a $10, vulnerable, critical part that is likely to get hit in such a way that it costs a $1000 to replace, that exposed, $10 part, I don't understand.
