Almost everyone has some sort of “smart” device and Dr. Leon Geter is making students - as young as kindergarten - through college and beyond of the need for caution. Increased cybersecurity awareness and protections are critical toward being safe. The better protection of one’s personal data and information in the face of constant risks, threats and vulnerabilities is key. He teaches that taking active and consistent steps toward being cyber safe and protected against cybercriminal and other hackers is everyone’s concern. Dr. Leon T. Geter currently serves as the Chair, Benedict College Department of the Criminal Justice Administration and Social Sciences (CJASS). As well as, the Founding Director, Benedict College Center for Cybersecurity. Dr. Geter has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Benedict College Cybersecurity Initiative, that was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
