Spot lock is no joke!

The most comprehensive review I’ve found. Had been a Hobie guy for 15 years but I needed a more comfortable ride that was more stable and motorized. Seems like Hobie has a ton of catching up to do. You did a great job on this video and thank you for not running a distracting background sound track.

I ordered the Old Town Autopilot 136 a week ago. It won't be here until mid June but I can't wait. I love my current kayak but this will be a game changer! I wanted to point out that you really shouldn't just keep your life jacket in the tank well. On a kayak you should always wear it. I used to keep mine in the tank well also but after some flip testing last summer I decided that was a horrible idea. If you flip or fall out in deep water it's going to more difficult than you think to get that out and put it on. I use one of those pull cord inflatable life jackets so it doesn't impede my movement. I hardly even notice when I'm wearing it. Great video! Happy fishing!

haha, I've had my 120 AutoPilot for about 3 weeks now... Taking me some time to get used to using the remote but it is really bad azz... I knew there was the ability to record but thanks for pointing that out... I'll give it a try my next time out. Been worried about getting lost. lol Thanks. can't wait to get back out and give that a try. I've had a couple of calls to Minn Kota and to OldTown for help acquiring the kayak and getting some "how to" information and they have both been fantastic.

I must admit, this is the best setup I’ve seen. Our Family own’s 3 Wilderness Systems Pungo 120’s that I wouldn’t ever think of fishing out of. The Pungo’s are awesome for what they are designed to do. However fishing is not one of them. I have been looking for a fishing kayak for a few years now, but nothing excited me in the slightest way. I could foresee problems I know I don’t want to deal with. Like dealing with a Paddle, Anchor & Line, or a Power Poll Anchor, or Peddling. They all seemed to be retro fitted to make something work. This Old Town Kayak is a game changer and will revolutionize the sport. A product like this will also help people that are physical handicapped. Good Job Old Town & Minnkota you designed a wonderful product.

I have been a hobie guy for many years but this Old Town is a game changer. If the new 2020 Kayaks aren't coming out with some form of a fully integrated motor with that epic Spot Lock, they will be dinosaurs and behind the tech/times.

Cool video thanks for the all the detail. The track setting allows you to follow a contour or weedline and then it will follow your previous path turning where you turned. It's real cool allowing you to repeat a drift or following along a shoreline even if its not straight. I am really tempted to pull the trigger on one. Question how do I explain to the wife I need a kayak when I already have a boat? Hmm, cheap to run? Think she'll buy it?

Just picked mine up this weekend! It is actually my first Kayak, so I am super stoked! I couldn't justify spending close to the same on a PDL, just to regret not just buying the best to begin with. Now I'm just waiting for all my accessories to show up this week and hope to be trolling for Walleyes over the holiday weekend!!! i Have decided to buy the kayak, great review but like you said the trolling motor is really the star player here! I have the ulterra on my deck boat and I got it when it first came out and I have nothing bad to say about it! In fact, if you get a capable fish finder you can link it to that trolling motor and get many more options out of it such as following a contour. You can tell the trolling motor through the fish finder to fish lets say 15' off the bank at 1mph moving to the left and it will do that, Its a hell of a setup!

I'm super impressed with this boat. On the batteries, wether its a lead acid or lithium, what size amp hour is need for an 8 hour day of continuous use moving around. with paddling I was out up to 5 hours. Now I want the easy way.

I think they missed the mark on these storage areas on Kayaks. The little one on ur right should flip up and hold ur phone on the underside of it. Maybe the top can hold ur phone on it if ur using it at the time. I just feel they are not all that innovative in this market. At this point, I should be able to have a fully electric Kayak that can even recharge from the trailer itself, maybe made specifically for it or a way to retrofit any other trailer easily. Should have a flat deck on the rear that I can get back in, in open waters anyway, easily if I was swimming or fell in. A small built in ladder or something. Idk, I feel like if you had a group of kayakers together they can easily build something better than probably any company so idk why they are so slow to add things or change something the majority wanrs

Hey Chrissypoo.. Great video bro . I got an email from Old Town manufacturers that said their plant has been closed because of Coronavirus. But stated they were going to reopen and start deliveries again on 04/20/20.. But they have a lot of kayaks in backorder. So they couldn't give an exact date on my Sportsman 136 . Hi, Thanks for an informative video on a nice kayak. I would LOVE to see a video of the record function following a contour along a shoreline. Question on the AutoPilot record function. When the unit is in the (go to) function i.e. playback can you adjust the speed. i.e. slow it down or speed it up or even pause it while it is traveling to its destination and then resume travel. This would be really nice if you had a shoreline that you fished regularly and wanted to stay a given distance from shoreline for casting purposes. If you could pause, put it in spot lock and fish some and then resume at a selected speed that would be AWESOME. Then when you get to the end of the recorded track you could just turn around and travel the other direction. John

This weekend was crazy wind out on the water. Kind of weird because it was still blistering hot and no storms. I have been eyeing a Titan 13.5 but after seeing this I think I'm going this route. Eliminates the need for Power Pole Micro. Currently on a Bonafide SS127 and wonder how standing stability would compare. Any info is appreciated!
