I've always liked this song , and this is a great vocal version by Texan crooner Gene Austin.

This is so cool to see! I’ve always wanted like an old gramophone ❤️ it gives music a real like feel instead of my phone and phones it feels like he’s signing next to me

I'm glad you enjoyed the old VV 2-55, this is one of the finest portable gramophone of the time, late 1920s.

A beautiful version and especially liked the violin accompaniment! I've always thought this song had some of the strangest but lovely lyrics of any in the 20's!

I have a machine like this but it doesn't work back brase broken 2:35

There are replacements for it , just look on ebay or get in a facebook group of antique phonographs and ask if someone have it. I have 5 years with this one and I had luck it was unmolested , complete , I only had to do some maintinace. ( and after a few days of getting it, replace the spring because it broke🥴)

Best version I've heard, made even better by the piano & vio;in. It also makes me laugh, my father knew some words (which I can't write here), in which a man applied black polish to his girlfriends body, turning her into his very own 'black bird' Think he learned those words in the army, where else? ;-) I still have his black polishing brush with his army number on it, I'm sure he only ever used it for putting a nice shine on his boots!

Paul Harrison Hehehe! Like your father, I have the quality of decompose the original lyrics to made ones in that comic and naughty way, this I had since I was like 5 years old... I'm glad you enjoyed this one my friend!

Thanks, if you are talking about the whole machine , it is a Victor Victrola 2-55 Phonograph, if you are talking about the part of the machine that slide over the record to produce sound , it is called " sound box" or " reproducer". I'm glad you enjoyed.
