Arishem is in my opinion absolutely broken! I don't fully see why others don't claim that. That being said, I think the TechLokiAri deck is a terrible idea. Yesterday we did Judge Your Arishem tournament and I lost in finals to Sanvil cause he played Mobius four times while I never got to play him. I did run Mobius in my deck, he didn't. Which makes me think that Arishem works best in Big Dumb Idiots meets Loki Card Generating list, rather than Loki Tech. Beside Rogue lol Just playing big stuff, and you get to play more big stuff, should be enough, rather than countering yourself against Loki. Still gotta test it Thank you for reading my rant

What makes it feel broken to me is starting with that extra energy WHILE having a set deck. They need to either make you earn that extra energy or make the whole deck randomized.

@neojd then no one will play Arishem, I don't see how it's possible to nerf it other than add an extra random card. Bear in mind Caddandra Nova will be a huge counter to Arishem and along with Dhawk that will be enough to see solid counter d3cks come around. Cards shouldn't be hard nerfed with the exception of things like old blob and Rhulk

Arishem is popular because it is fun not because it is overly powerful. This was not the case for early Loki or Thanos decks. The deck will be played less in a week.

Yeah he's pretty busted. The "randomness" is mitigated by coulso , fury loki etc, PLUS the potential of them getting generated. It's wild

I think having pre infinite players absolutely helps the audience. I've never been to infinite and I absolutely love this game. I believe I'm pretty good at it too as I have positive win rates every season. The only barrier is time. You have to play a ton of games to get there and even if we are serious snap players - work, family, social commitments etc. can prevent entry into infinite just because of time. That's how I feel.

I love that you have someone who doesn't care about reaching infinite on the podcast with you. You explained the reasons perfectly and I agree. I also only reached infinite one time and don't really care much about it. But I care A LOT about reaching level 90 to get the gold (and even that isn't that easy if you don't play a lot). As for ranking the cards: Arishem> Sersi> Thena> Gilgamesh> Makkari> Phastos. Thank you again!

I like it. Having different elo / ranks players on the podcast brings diverse perspectives to the table. It allows for a more comprehensive discussion about the game, strategies, and experiences

Oh! And I've been playing the Aritive deck since seeing it on Twitter. I also cut Psylocke independently and changed it to Ravonna. You can get Mr. Negative on turn two sometimes as intended with Psylocke, but it also allows you to scam out Iron Man and Mystique or any of your other zeroes if you don't have negative.

Pretty solid season of new cards! 1 - Thena - solid fun and great spotlight variant 2 - Sersi - slightly more controlled chaos, like her casual variant too 3 - Arishem - I’ve had only 50/50 luck in mirror matchups, great design, meta is whack rn 4 - Makkari - don’t have her, but seems fun 5 - Phastos - when he works he’s awesome (Kamar Taj, Sinister London + Abs) 6 - Gilgamesh - good stats, kinda boring

Opinion on audience, I’m in the mood. Often get to infinite about week 3, only didn’t make it one season. I don’t ever really bother at competing after infinite, just have fun, and not great at conquest, two borders so far. I like the level of the podcast, often listen on audio only, no video. I think you do really well, repeating key questions for any newbies and also balancing real life chat and talk about a game. You take the game seriously and talk about it in depth, but the vibe is always about people and life mattering most.

Issue with the first deck is that if you Loki, you NO LONGER have the juggernaut / Shadow King / Shang chi you were saving for turn 6, now do you.... they are not their cards.

The elevation of community voices you give is so wildly important. There are a huge number of reasons eoneone might not hit infinite, and none of them invalidate their experience or opion of the game. Personaly, I love hearing the competative anaylsis duscusion with the top players, but aproaching it while keeping the conversation open and accessible is something you do really well. -> Arishem, Thena, Sersi, Phastos, Gilgamesh, Makari

Sersi Arishem Thena Gilgamesh Makkari Phastos This season has made me love RNG when I didn't much before. Sersi has been so damn fun, and Arishem has been fun in the few games I've plated. I didn't get the bottom 2 and seem happy with the decision so far, even though Makkari seems like it's a solid card. Hate seeing it run to my opponent's board.

My rankings for the season are below, however I have to add a caveat that I didn't have any resources for Makkari, Phastos, or Sersi so I don't have any firsthand experience with those cards. I like countdowns, so that's how I've ordered mine: 6- Makkari - seems ok, but I don't think she made any kinda splash when she dropped..... 5- Gilgamesh - Pigeonholed to one archetype and maybe replaceable there with no perceivable dropoff is just bad 4- Phastos - I think he's good, but I think the RNG bites too much 3- Sersi - This is a powerful effect and can go into multiple decks, she's wrecked me enough times that I'm very sad I didn't have 4 keys the week she dropped 2 - Thena - instantly became one of the best scalers in the game and is very versatile. Arishem may have dropped her play rate some, but this is still a powerful card 1- Arishem - Powerful, fun, counterable, this card has just been an absolute home run

I'm just ranking the cards that I have. I'll put Gilgamesh at 1, and Phastos at 2. Those are the only cards that I got this month, but I want Thena, Arishem and Sersi. I'm good on Makari (I know that I didn't spell her name right) because I think she is a glorified Quicksilver. Looks like I'm going to have to save some tokens if I want those cards.

It's been a good season, with some interesting cards. My ratings (best to worst) would have to be: 1- Thena: works well in a lot of decks, and it provides something unique to gameplay 2-Arishem 3-Phastos: I think he can bring a lot to almost any deck. I don't think he's utilized enough. 4-Sersi: Good in handling junk decks. Can be really risky at times, but if you know you might not pull it out, you can use her and hope for a hail Mary. 5-Gilgamesh: good card in the right deck. Only works in a very specific type of deck. 6-Makkari

Cards from worst to best 6. Makkari - just not worth it, maybe in some Sandman lists 5. Gilgamesh - telegraphed beatstick, good in zoo but not even necessary there 4. Phastos - good in Surfer, but not core ( I think Surfer is better than Zoo so he is higher than Gilgamesh) 3. Arishem - powerful but easy to counter, honestly I find him very fun even when he is this popular 2. Sersi - mainstay in Anni lists, let's you stay in games where you otherwise couldn't, even though you will have some bad rng 1. Thena - best early scaler now that Angela has been nerfed

As I observed, Arishem is the top 1 card of this month, then it would be followed by Sersi, Makkari, Thena Gilgamesh And lastly, phastos, phastos is not a bad card but the later it is played it loses its value.

Absolutely there is value in non infinite, imo. I've only hit infinite once, I've only got 90 maybe half a dozen times. I mostly stall out mid 80s and struggle to climb.

My Ranking: 1.Arishem-my favorite card by far and my funnest archetype 2.Thena-strong card scales pretty big combos with a lot of cards 3.Sersi-not bad but really have to be lucky to be good 4.phastos- really mid, really good turn 3 good if turn 4 if not not worth it 5.Gilgamesh-Strong but needs a lot of preparation 6.Makkari-not good free 4 power but a lot of other good 3 cost

1) Arishem - Always thought he'd be more competitive than what I heard others saying, but still far beyond my own expectations. 2) Thena - Was most unsure on this one. Insane potential power for 2 cost. I'd compare her to Ms Marvel, very strong value if decks that fit her restriction work in the meta. 3) Sersi - Has helped my ramp deck more than I was expecting, great alternative to Anni in his decks. Can give a lot of surprise value. 4) Gilgamesh - GilgaZoo is extremely solid, better than I anticipated even after taking into account the buff. Ranked slightly lower as mostly a one trick pony. 5) Makkari - Has a few uses, nothing too special. 6) Phastos - Very underwhelming in my experience.

My ranking : 1. Arishem - Simply FUN card 2. Thena - maybe the strogest of the new cards in this month 3. Sersi - good in junk and as a counter to junk 4. Gilgamesh - okay card maybe needs some buff to be more competitive, maybe a cost reduction or something like that 5. Phastos - weak, it should be a cost 2 6. Makkari - weak, can work in some Sandman Decks

My final ranking of the cards this season is (I only have Thena and Arishem): Thena Gilgamesh Arishem (haven't played much recently so unsure about this) Sersi Makkari Phastos (haven't played much recently so unsure about this) Also, cable in the first Loki Darkhawk deck?

1) Thena 2) Sersi - sad I didn't pull her for keys 3) Arishem - I think there will be answers 4) Makkari - better than expected! 5) Gilgamesh - still solid, just not particularly interesting 6) Phastos - the baseline is pretty high!

I think I'd rank them like this. But I don't think any card this season is "suck to pull" bad. It's just that the "strong" cards are relatively more reliable in terms of power, value, and consistency. 1. Thena 2. Arishem 3. Gilgamesh 4. Sersi 5. Phastos 6. Makkari

my ranking of the cards this season is: 1. Thena. competitively speaking, it's the best card of the season 2. Arishen. created a new archetype for the game, this in itself puts it in a good position. but it's still very strong 3. Sersi. strong, found its place on the junk deck. but RNG can be pretty cruel 4. Phastos. I believe that in the medium term this card will be more useful and will find a better place 5. Gilgamesh. at this cost there are better and stronger cards. 6. Makkari. fun, puts a little pressure on the board, but that's it

“Straight up Rockstar City” I want that on a Snap Judgements shirt now. As for ranking this months cards, hard to say. But Arishem is def #1 for fun. I think Gilgamesh is 2 then Thena, but again that’s the fun to play ranking. I skipped Sersi, which seemed like a good time. Sadly Phastos isn’t Rockstar City.

I think, atm, I'd rank the cards from this season thus: 1. Thena 2. Arishem 3. Sersi 4. Gilgamesh 5. Phastos 6. Makkari I personally only wound up with three of these, so that makes the others a little harder to evaluate. So happy I went for Thena, though.

The Arishem emoji I use like... you should have run, or you had a warning, or even like 'modern problems require modern solutions' when I counter or get around someone's big brain play.

Question about the emojis. Did you catch the discussion that the "Fist Bump" can also be interpreted as "F You" if you do it first as the winner? Personally, I usually use it most as the loser, but sometimes as the winner, too, if I want to show that it was a particularly enjoyable game or that the opponent surprised me with good moves and I only won by luck. Now, after the discussion, I'm wondering if, as the winner, I should never use the Fist Bump first and only respond with it. What’s your opinion on this?
