10 жыл бұрынWatch Byomkesh Bakshi's fourth episode 'Makdi ka Ras'. Byomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective in Bengali literature created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. He is one of the most successful and popular characters in Bengali literature.
Doordarshan now brings to you the entire series of this literary classic which was televised back in 1993 directed by the brilliant Basu Chatterjee. Actor Rajit Kapur played the role of Byomkesh Bakshi, for which he was highly praised. Ajit was played by K.K. Raina and Satyaboti was played by Sukanya Kulkarni who was the first actress to play the character.

i'm enjoying this show in 2021. How byomji gets to know the person knocking in his door in every episode. much simplicity and feel affection by seeing these characters. that era is gone and wud never come again.

I think the only indian series which exemplified the neo noir genre in true sense and Rajat Kapoor got into the skin of this character. I watched this during my school days during it’s first telecast in 1993, used to watch whenever it used to come at 11pm Doordarshan retelecast and then watched with my wife in 2013 and watching again. This is a timeless masterpiece.👏👍

Thing is he is supposed to be smart and is a writer himself but as the episodes went on they made him speak less and less and made his character a little dumb. Which was avoidable.

@@drusss117he is never suppose to be clever. Sharadindu Bandhopadhyay (original writer) created the character of Ajit babu, for the purpose that through him Byomkesh's reasoning could be understood by we audience. He is representative of us audience.

The very first "case" in his hands, and he had to hear all those swearing words that he is not likely to have heard in his entire life so far, nor is he likely to be insulted so much in his life hereafter. That angry old man is Utpal Dutt, who was a veteran Bengali and Hindi movie actor. He played Bhavani Shankar in the original Golmaal, boss of Amol Palekar's character. That was also a gem of a movie 😂

Nand dulal Babu ji is a great Marathi actor. His portrayal of Lord Swami Samartha Dev (God) (Marathi serial) is so perfect !!! I first saw him in this role and then in this episode... From first I knew he is great actor.

Seen the serials when first telicasted. Viewing 3rd or 4th time. Even now it gives exprerinace of a fresh serial. Hats off to Basu chatterji and Byomakesha bhakshi.

Sheer acting... No gimmicks, no graphics and no new gen equipments to solve the cases. Just brilliant. Doordarshan showed us that with simple dialect and humble acting any series can be interesting

Bhai starting mein toh Ajit ki izzat se beizzati kar di. Ajit jaise log duniya mein kam hain , jinki koi ego nahi hai aur jo genuinely dil ke ache hain. If Byomkesh is brain of this series , then Ajit is definitely the heart.

In the Byomkesh stories Sharadindu Bandopadhyay portray himself as Ajit , where the character is as simple as others bachelor guy .... But Byomkesh is extraordinary .. He is a swataneshi . And Ajit is a newcomer writer , has his own earning but due to friendship he stayed with Byomkesh . As the story go far Ajit starts a book srote to help his family and Byomkesh..

I love the series. Brings back the childhood memories. But now when I look at the cases they don't seem so difficult. Also have noticed now that Byomkesh is very touchy...keeps touching everyone. Maybe society changes have corrupted my thoughts ;)

One thing I noticed that in this series India is shown very beautiful, clean. It feels like heaven to me. I watch this only for the locations shooted in this series even indoor is also beautiful.

This is such a treat to watch! I've read the books as a child and this brings back such a big wave of nostalgia. I recently gifted the book to my boyfriend and now we're both fans of this series and the books
