OMG I tried it this morning and it actually works! No joke everyone.

You can hold shift and right click the start menu button (windows logo) and it’ll give you the option to run a cmd window as admin. It’s a quick and easy way to launch a terminal w/ admin rights. Hope this helps. Btw. Thank you.

Man your a fucking genius! Usually when I look for videos for help with computer stuff on KZfaq I find videos that don’t work with a ton of dislikes and I didn’t think I’d really find something to help me but I came across this amazing video. Now I can actually download far cry 6 without my shitty internet connection at home. Went from a 2 day download to a 3 hour download thanks so much and I will definitely use this technique from now on to download my games, let’s just hope Verizon doesn’t find out a way to stop this.

Okay so let me try to explain this better. In the network connections control panel when I plug in the Ethernet cord it registers as Ethernet instead of as Local Area Connection. And my hotspot/wifi connection will only share to the local area connection.

Can confirm it works kind of. I definitely have over my cap when downloading on epic or blizzard but steam google and opera GX all are just as slow as they would be if it were capped.

This works if you have just unlimited hotspot as well. Remember to pay attention, you must do this in admin mode

Yo I bought a hotspot with 100gb and downloads killed me then was throttled u saved me keep on trucking. I'll share this to my gamer page once I get unblocked from fb aha

Works for me. Download speed was 20 mbps and upload came to 16. Using the s20 fe 5g on verizon.

So I followed the directions here and what i noticed is everyday you want to use this you have to re enter the command promp each time and it comes right on.

I haven't hit my data limit, and my hotspot downloads as quick as a roadrunner, but it refuses to do any gaming like my previous hotspots did. Hopefully this tutorial helps my dilemma. Will try tomorrow.

Does anyone know if this method works for T-Mobile? I used to have Verizon and this method worked like a charm but recently switched to T-Mobile to save some money. I tried this method while having T-Mobile but the app shows my hotspot usage going up. Does this mean that even after the 40gb cap it'll still be the same speed or does it just not work?

This only works with phones or tablets that have hotspot. If you have a standalone hotspot device it doesn’t work. Cool trick though thank you!

I get to the control panel and when I go to connect the PS4 it say it cannot connect to the server in the time limit or if I start to test the network it says failed. Any advice? Update. Got it connected but the speeds are at like 300kbps still?

I can actually plug my netgear modem (LM1200 using verizon)into the ethernet on the desk top and get great speed with this method(15 high speed gigs used up). Now if I can just figure out how to send this signal to the router.
