I hate to admit it but imo, seems we are in our own fall of Rome stage. All of the way around. I always preached it would be the debt and spending and so it is. No country can last under the weight of this crushing debt. It just can't and it is already starting to crack and fail. People just choose to ignore it or not want to open their eyes to reality. They won't have a choice soon.

I think I read these deaths reduced the average length of life about three months compared to what statistics would have predicted. Which says the savings were not massive and were likely offset by the number of jobs lost and the taxes lost. Add to that that well will likely see lower than expected deaths for a couple of years unless we keep seeing excessive deaths in working age people. The latter will result in fewer people paying into the system.

The biggest American money pit that destroys people financially is our medical system . When a hospital room cost 6 times what a 4 star hotel with room service costs , you know something is wrong . When mediocre Physicians by the thousands from foreign lands come here and become millionaires within 3-4 years you know something is wrong . The AMA and their health insurance “partners” have an ironclad monopoly where there is NO competition . When a $10 lab test or bottle of insulin costs $300 something is wrong . Some ethical standards and open market competition would help . BTW ,,I am an independent conservative ,veteran and voter . Go Brandon !
