McDonald is the most awkward public speaker you can get, but Murphy asking "you know?" Twice in every sentence is as hard to listen to. I think Murphy's production will be worth the annoyance, but I do not share the same optimism for McDonald. He's strictly DC material and moving on from Pete when we did was the wrong move. Hope I'm completely wrong.

If the only downside is he's a little awkward at times, I'll take it. We will have to wait and see, but it sounds like his football IQ is off the charts. I feel like the Hawks are actually moving forward with Mike. We have been stuck in the mud for a couple of years under pete. Go Hawks!

@MrPickledip I really hope you're right. I felt like Pete was rebuilding, and making positive strides the last couple drafts (Charbonnet, Witherspoon, Olu ect... and we all know how good 2022 was draft wise) . I don't feel this draft would have gone much different if at all if he was still head coach. Not crazy about the Michigan TE, but looking forward to being wrong. We'll see if McDonald is a head coach, just a really good DC or if it was a bad hire soon enough. 2 maybe 3 seasons. I really do love the Grubb hire but I am a UW honk!

Coach is analytical. He breaks down the game into an algorithm. We'll see some more versatility with the game plans. Pete was a feel guy. He motivated. But we saw that he was getting too dependent on vets and a stale scheme. Not much improvement as a group.

@rallybuss7660 agreed, and some could argue pete lost the locker room at times last year. Also, I believe pete lost us a few games last year with game management decisions. Especially when the number of teams going for it on 4 and short sky rocketed. The hawks trusted a shaky defense and went with the punt. Remember when he called a time out, the other team challenged. The challenge was successful, and pete was caught on Camara asking for his time out back. Love pete, but we needed some Change for a while.
