Everyone makes him out to be a wimpy scaredy-cat, but really, C -3PO's really wholesome. He's just loveable, and the tough adventures of the Prequel Trilogy explain why he's no longer easily convinced in the Original Trilogy (not that I ever thought that was a problem)

For the record,Anakin did not built him from scratch. He found his remains,and fixed it. Thats a big misconception.

Young Anakin: _"He's a protocol droid to help Mom."_ HOW is an "etiquette and protocol" droid useful in a slave household? Also, he doesn't HAVE to be a protocol droid right NOW, Lucas! Droids can be re-programmed! Hey, here's an idea: when we meet C3P0 for the first time, he could have a completely different personality. We could get to know him over the course of 3 movies and then, when they erase his memory at the end of the third movie, we would actually feel BAD for him, like they're killing a real person. Instead, his reprogramming is treated like a "ha ha please laugh" moment. Humans in the Star Wars universe have a monstrous blind spot when it comes to their treatment of droids.
