It depends on locality and culture/income of the families involved. In Mumbai/Pune, weddings are grand, but where I'm staying right now, a small village near Mahabaleshwar this is a normal wedding.

Thank u from an Indian. If u get chance don't forget to visit India places like Rishikesh jammu ,Shimla it is heavenly beautiful. There is the other side of India which no one talks specially media. And focus only on showing the bad side to satisfy there wish there streets of los Angeles , (USA) street of Thailand and lot of places in foreign places which no one talks about. I really wish i was with them. People really tried to rip their pockets. They were telling the prices even more than double like the rikshawala. 500 rupees, i never gave more than 150 to a rikshawala even i was travelling 3 times a day. What the h*. they say 3X prices as soon as they see a foreigner.
