This song is such a classic. it has influenced music and musicians in so many ways, i count at least 14 other pieces of music that used this masterpiece , not only in the US but also the UK, Germany, France, Japan. And even madonna's vogue ,This band was truly a Music Factory for so many others .
@luissanchez16685 жыл бұрын
I love C+C, I love their so contagious house music, but it is impossible that Vogue was influenced by this track, as it was first recorded in 1989 as a B Side for the "Keep It Together" single, and the album Gonna Make You Sweat (which includes this song) was entirely recorded in 1990.

....I entered my first Gay Bar, Nov. 1991; I'm terrified that someone close would notice me, and I am almost ready to pass out...I've 'come out' to myself a year prior, but never 'acted' on it, in terms of socializing... I enter Uncle Charlie's NYC, and the Video DJ plays....THIS...that ONE night, changed me forever in regards to socializing with Gay Men, Dance / Club music, my 'love' life (ahem), and even though the 'party' must end, I have the EXQUISITE memories of the Early 90's that will NEVER leave my memory...and THANK YOU David Cole & Robert Clivilles (C&C), this Video Remix is VERY close to me, for starting it ALL...just a touch of LOVE, LIFE & LIVING...

Not sure why Zelma Davis did not end up being a huge star. She had it all; incredible voice and absolutely gorgeous with great stage presence. After C & C dissolved somebody should have snapped her up as fast as possible. Shocked that she just kinda faded away...
@michaelrizzo269 Жыл бұрын
@@RBS_ Okay, so....A) I could not find anything, anywhere to corroborate this. And believe me, I tried. And (B) Even if this incident was true, I'm sure there was a lot more to it than you explained, and besides, it certainly doesn't explain why big record companies and/or other groups needing a lead singer would have stayed away. Your effort on "ran away" as opposed to "faded away" was admirable, but sounds personal and certainly doesn't answer my question. Thanks, though...
@kenthuang4363 ай бұрын
I think song proves that Zelma was more than just a pretty face that was there only to pose for the band and lip sync songs. People seem to forget just how well she could really sing because of the controversy over Martha Wash suing to get credit for her work on Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).
@scottthompson97204 жыл бұрын
Makes you wonder why they shaded Martha Walsh when Zelma can actually sing anyway? :O The music industry has some truly WEIRD ones pulling strings
@balls_down_ya_throat4562 жыл бұрын
They just wanted someone who looked sexier for the camera basically a model. Martha is a beautiful woman to me but they did heavy set women wrong back then. She has a great voice.
@bravesoul57432 жыл бұрын
Zelma can definitely sing. Very unfair on her part, she was not given the right spotlight for her talent as a singer too!! Shes been eclipsed by the Martha Wash contraversy!

Yup it was fun and i lived basically in the club , i remember leaving the clubs at 8am to go to school . This is a whole different era , there was a variety and freedom in the music industry and club scene you can't find nowhere today . We went out to truly have fun, not to show off or brag or take stupid selfies to post hell knows where . We lived for the moment , not to record it .
