Timothy Stephen thanks, destroying the radar and tech is the 'proper' way to win the mission which I've done in my speedrun version. A very common question is, "how do you build a base instead on this mission since you have engineers but no money" so I posted this in response.

It is an alternate WWII, because it's an alternate timeline, in which our WWII never happened, thanks to Einstein from OUR timeline in 1946 at Trinity, seeing the horrors of WWII, skipping back to kill Hitler. It's unclear, but at a minimum it's late 50s, early 60s, because the USSR got the time it needed to centralize, expand power, and prepare an army ready to take over Europe, because there was no Nazi Germany to fight them for that. Unless you're saying satellites, ICBMs, missile submarines, Gen 3 fighter jets, miniature nuclear devices, nuclear power, electrical weaponry, and many other stuff besides were not only possible but deployed in 1939...

RA takes places in the 40s to 50s and Stalin died in 1953. Besides that you cant argue that "how can it be set in the 40s when there are Satellites and Tesla weaponry" When in this video there is literally a Soviet Super Cyborg and an Invisible Tank and correct me if im wrong but those dont exist in real life.

It's to do with the appearance of the build station. Unlike the other stations, the War factory looks the same for both sides. Unless you actually take over an allied war factory, even if you take over an Allied Construction Yard, the War Factory you build will only have the tanks for *your* side

The Tech Level is actually pretty low in that level Capturing their War Factory Gives you no Vehicle options No engi availible either from Soviet Barracks :) Both maps also lack ore sadly :(

You can but the Tech is very limited And the War Factory in the 2nd base Wont give you any vehicle options Both Variants also have no ore/gems to harvest :(

On the first version you already can do all of the above, the church capture is a special exception in this mission. Though now I recall something about infantry not being able to detect an adjacent phase transport.

That';s the weird thing about RA. It's most likely caused by the game's limitations, the icon for war factory is the same for both sides so you can only build one of two.

They sort of did it to themselves code wise in RA, as both sides have the same War Factory - it's what units are listed as buildable by only Soviets, or Allies, that determines what you get in your build menu. So when you build a War Factory, even from a captured Construction Yard, since it's YOU building a War Factory, it will be from YOUR tree. But capturing a War Factory directky, that's coded as taking from THEIR build tree, hence you have to capture a War Factory to be able to build the other sides vehicles. As the naval structures and barracks for both sides are code wise (and graphically) different structures, the same issue does not apply.

@@stylesrj In my headcanon, captured units are fooled into thinking they're fighting for the mainline faction and just play off enemy equipment as being captured or repurposed.

Templarfreak capturing silos in RA doesn’t give you money. If they allowed that then the thief unit would be rendered redundant.

@@TheCNCChannel Not if your opponent never builds silos, which are useless for pros.

Except the thief was an add on unit, and furthermore the thief doesn't need a damaged Silo to capture the money with 1 unit, IE doesn't need multiple engineers, only 1. (Thief abuse is one of the my favorite things against the AI, all your money is now mine)

That's cause Westwood's RA95 and TD shared a universe, where the Allies and Soviets merged together to defend the earth against Tiberium creatures and aliens. Electronic Arts kinda threw that out the window though.
