В этом контексте как раз не грустно, а вполне закономерно - добро и зло всегда рядом, но вместе быть не могут. И, как это не парадоксально, герой стал дьяволом именно из-за своей доброты. Ибо дьявола может уничтожить только он сам. Дорама полна глубокого смсла, философии и всё происхоящее логично.

А вы читали новеллу по которой сняли дораму? Если нет то я вас обрадую, Тан Тай Цзинь в новелле переродился спустя 500 лет после смерти, и вернулся к Ли Су Су и дочери, сначала он притворялся что он не помнит их, но они быстро его раскусили, и они жили вместе долго и счастливо, просто в дораме этого не сделали, дабы сделать дораму ещё драмотичней, или сохранить интригу на 2 сезон!😊❤

That's why when Susu picks up that scale he appears inside it, it means a small part of him was preserved. Could he return? I'd like to believe so. It clearly is an open ending.
