Wow, this brought back memories. Rebuilt quite a few of these back in my 20's...worked for a Komatsu dealer in the rebuild department. Good job.

Hello, dcfan1107 do you know if Is it necessary to lap the cylinder block and valve plate if the parts are new or is that just for reconditioning used parts?

@@dcfan1107 Thank you for the reply I eventually figuered it out lol My first Komatsu had the pump rebuilt 3 times by unqualified mechanics than i took it upon myself to rebuild it (First time ) and it actually came out good thanks to videos like yours and the shop manual!

Why is metal paste used between the cilyndar block and plate? Also between the cradel and swash plate? Arent the parts new?

Most likely they are meant to be mated by lapping.
