It was 1996 when I met my life partner. I was only 18. I remember listening to this song as a young girl in love and admiring him so much. Today as I'm listening to this song, it's taking me 26 years back to that time. We're in our marriage for 12 years now and this song is stirring up our love. Thank you Celine Dion.

So many comments on here talk about this song in an upbeat light, not realizing that it's really a song about heartache and yearning. This is NOT a wedding song. This is a song about yearning, heartache, a confession of love to someone who does not yet know, and who you can only hope loves you back, but you simply do not know. Hence the lyrics, "Should've made my move when you looked in my eyes, cause by now I know that you'd feel the way that I do"

All of you appear to be missing the important essence of the song which is that the person for whom they were yearning also had the same feelings of LOVE for them and made it known in the letter. So, this is essentially a happy ending song and can be played at weddings. It's a song that tells a beautiful story.

It’s amazing that this song has so many views, considering it was never released as a single. As I write this in March 2024, this video (which has 33mil), combined with other lyric videos of this song, have a total of 70 million views!!! And I always thought this song was my little secret, forgotten, a hidden gem overshadowed by her monster hits! But clearly it’s a fan favourite. Had it been released as a single, it would have become one of her most famous songs, I’m sure of it!
