I did the same to mine. You can even modify the cap, trim holes for other things if you like. But there's really no need to re-do the old dashboard. Unless you want something nice and fancy. The coverlay works perfect. I even painted mine.

Thisnis perfect for smoothing a dash also.

Great video! I do wish however that you would have shown the finished product as well as it being installed in the truck. I watched other videos with the coverlay prduct where the coverlay was installed off the truck and it wouldn't fit. Perhaps your method would have prevented that but it would have been nice to see.
